Biography
Memphis Fitzlyric Living Conduit to Other Dimensions | Neutral Good | References Memes That Don't Exist in This Reality [FILLER TEXT FILLER TEXT FILLER TEXT] Hello? Can you hear me? Don't exit this room, okay? This isn't a mistake. This room isn't a mistake. I had to hide these logs away from the core gameplay files, in a place that only a beta tester would look, and in a place that the files could be protected. I just really, really hope that the next development team finds this before the game is released to the public. This game has some kind of malicious code in it that we haven't been able to fully contain or even understand, for that matter. We're over budget and out of time. But that's not the reason that we're shutting down. Listen. I have to keep this short so the file size will be small enough to fly under the radar. There are more. They may not be in order. "I suppose I'm just having trouble understanding, Memphis-- what's the point? It's all very intriguing, don't get me wrong, but what is it good for?" She crossed her arms, gauntlets making a satisfying metallic clunk as she did so. "Stuff like that, it doesn't exactly put food on the table, y'know? Now, evocation magic, on the other hand..." He took another sip of tea and set his now empty cup, delicately, on the saucer. "Well, it's like-- sorta like, well...hm." He tapped his chin in an almost exaggerated manner, as though deep in thought, before his dual sets of eyes widened with inspiration. "It's like this. Take Rorschach, for example. She's good at what she does-- really good! But think of how much she could do with blueprints from a world with, with nanobots. Or space travel. Or golems powered by technology instead of magic! The feats of engineering that folks in some universes have accomplished are incredible. There's always more to learn!" Sappho squinted. "I'm...not sure I follow you. Wait, what are nano--?" He cut her off with en emphatic arm wave, his starsilks catching the candlelight and projecting dim dots of light along the stone walls. "That's not the point! Don't get too hung up on the details. What I'm saying is, a little help from our friends across the multiverse could be pretty useful! And, well, there's a lot of folks who'd pay pretty well for that kind of information. Especially if you know how to market it." At that, Sappho's expression changed. An eyebrow ticked upward. The scowl softened. Her eyes glinted with something...calculating. "Huh...I guess that makes sense." She paused for a moment before continuing, trying to keep her voice level so as not to sound overly eager. "Anything I'd be interested in, do you think?" "Probably. You wanna find out?" "Oh, hell yeah." |
