Biography
Her body comprised stainless steel, hammered and shaped to look just like a real Coatl, as well as a special coding system that dictated her every movement. She was the brainchild of two talented clans, one passionate Fire blacksmiths, the other ingenious Lightning technicians.
They called her Yona, this special creation of theirs. She was made with the forefront technology available, possessing such a wide range of actions and vocals that no dragon who ever saw her could raise a single complaint. If they were not told beforehand, no one would know that she was not a real Coatl but merely a robot.
The only problem was that she lacked emotion of any kind.
She was incapable of feeling joy, sorrow, or even simple satisfaction at winning battles. After all, she was a battle bot. She had been made to spearhead the creation of mechanised dragon warriors to fight battles for clans, to reduce the mortality rate of border skirmishes between neighbouring communities.
But in the end, her real purpose was to conquer the world. The two clans had grown greedy, warped by their immense power lying in their creation. So they sent her on raids, as the leader of the battle squad, trained to kill, taught to destroy. Every time her dark, fleeting shadow descended on an unsuspecting group of dragons, terror would break out. With a single strike of her wings, tail and claws simultaneously, at least three dragons would lie dead at her feet, pooling blood beneath them. Another snap of her jaws and the one standing closest to her would depart the world as well.
Yona became the Goddess of Death, the Reaper of Sornieth. It was rumoured that if a dragon failed one too many times, she would descend on the darkest night, taking his consciousness to the afterlife. One could see her cold grey eyes, right before their last moment, boring into their soul, uncovering their deepest secrets…
Then one day, she vanished.
Utterly disappeared.
————————————————————————————————————————
“Come…” a voice whispered, tapping on her power button. The stone-cold grey eyes opened and blinked once, twice. “Let’s fix you up.”
Gentle claws, brimming with arcane energy, touched the surface of the cool metal scales.
“… What are you doing?” an emotionless, flat voice spoke, the Reaper staring at her strange new companion.
“Helping you.”
The claws sent a last burst of magenta pulse into the Coatl.
Slowly, the hard, dull gaze faded into a vibrant hue of fuchsia, gaining a new spark of vigour and life.
“… who am I?”??“You are Yona. Now flee, flee far, far away, to a distant clan at the outskirts of the desert. They will take you in.”
