Unlike his siblings, Aurum doesn't hold sentimental views about knowledge and travel and adventure. He knows that a clan can't survive on quirky stories and good intentions alone. A strong clan needs resources, allies, and the means to defend itself from attack.

To this end, Aurum focuses on building diplomatic relations with others. He seeks to make friendships with travelling merchants, representatives from others clans and especially to woo priests of the Eleven (because having the ear of the gods might come in handy some day). He
also tries to find dragons with great martial prowess, or tactical skill, and learn from them. Though Aurum is not much of a fighter himself, he values those who can put their claws and magic on the line to protect a clan.

Finally, though he is loathe is admit it, Aurum is a bit vain. Part of creating a good relationship is making a good first impression, and so this young wildclaw carefully considers his appearance. He knows that his outfit represents the strength and wealth of his clan, and so he tries his best to convey a position of power and competence.
