Biography
Oops. That wasn't supposed to happen!
Gold splashed everywhere. Calefaction flinched back, expecting pain from the hot metal as it seared her scales and the thick membrane of her wings. The pain never came, and she cautiously opened her eyes. Gold covered her from nose to tail in a sharp, stuttering pattern. The edges of her wings, where she had rested them on the floor of her workshop, were covered in a smooth, glimmering coat of the stuff. Calefaction moved cautiously, lifting her wings, raising and lowering her head crest, and shifting her weight back and forth on her newly gold-coated limbs.
The gold didn't come off, but neither did it inhibit her movements. There was new weight there, but not, she thought, enough to tie her to the ground. The gold flexed as she moved. She brushed the gold on one of her fins with a single delicate claw. The gold was smooth and only slightly warm, as if had been sitting in the sun all day, not boiling in a hearth-pot moments ago.
She sat back and considered the light reflecting off her tail. Quite odd indeed, she thought. She would have to consult Umbra and Luminous, and perhaps Saiph as well. But for the moment...she turned back to her pot. There was enough gold left to finish her project, and plenty of light left in the day.
Metalworker and chemist. A bit (a lot) of the mad scientist type. A friend of Umbra.
