And even more bloody work.
Although he had to admit, working for Tajarak was significantly funnier than working for Boss. Of course, not in damned days like this one.
Or their first day in this clan.
Tajarak still stubbornly states that it hadn’t been his fault, reversed air currents happen. He’s a Wind dragon, he should been able to deal with that sort of thing. Apparently not.
It was his fault. Machinery worked perfectly. Maintained perfectly, checked often, same as every thing Ladrian is responsible for.. He has to admit, he’s been always and is still, the more responsible one.
It was Tajarak’s fault, that they crashed at the shore of Starwood Strand. Their ship, their beautiful, blessed by not one, but two gods, skyship crippled and meddled. The small Fae was catapulted into the freakin sea; he hates swimming to this very day. He was saved by a Mirror.
Mirror Lady of the Clan herself. She still intimidates him, acting like she despises him and his ancestors and their ancestors just because he’s pretty useless during any fight not requiring fixing complex machinery. Sadly hers battles involve claws and teeth. His weapons are his tool, probably because he’s an engineer, not a fighter. Or swimmer. He’ll never forget that crash and that launch to cold, cruel waters.
Tajarak supposes that Ladrian is a Ridgeback at heart. Ladrian cares about what Tajarak supposes, even if he’s so, so wrong.
They’d somehow managed to repair the whole skyship with the help of the Fae’s familiar, Creeper the Coppercoil Creeper. Just in time to spot Gareth from the air and give him a lift to Aresha’s grounds.
After his arrival, the true work started, building the Clan.
