A lad who ventures into the wilderness to hunt almost entirely for pleasure than for purpose. Originating from a wealthy merchant family, Hershel has never had to work a day in his life.
He and Rafflesia became friends when Rafflesia was still a lone wolf lurking in the edges of the Scarred Wasteland, scrapping together enough food to survive every day. They often met each other by chance while hunting, and somehow struck up an amiable friendship. Rafflesia is frankly disgusted by Hershel's carefree ways, but they still get along.
When Rafflesia joined the Cupid Clan (or didn't, whoever you want to believe), Hershel was shocked that he had decided to 'settle down'. Rafflesia dealt him a serious whack over the back, then invited him back to the lair for a meal. It cannot exactly be said that 'Hershel understood right away', because he did not. He simply took a liking to the clan as well and decided to stay.
That said, he is only ever seen around the lair once or twice a month, as he is always gallivanting off on adventures. Sometimes with Rafflesia, sometimes - to the distress of every other responsible dragon in the clan - with young female students from the school.
He means well. We hope.
