MOONLIGHT

FOUNDER | MATRIARCH| LEADER

"The weak will be beaten by the shadows. May darkness engulf the world and the strong rise from the void".

LORE

____It was a cold spring night when the hatchling pecked out of the abandoned shadow egg. As cries filled the air a glowing light blocked out the moon. As the baby took its first step , a large crash shook the earth. The curious hatchling approached the glowing mass and picked a fragment off. swallowing it she felt a terrible pain tearing her apart. She fled to a nearby cave where she collapsed till morning.

____The young dragon had lived in the area for a month, lonely and scared she never ventured far. She forgot about the fragment until the next full moon. As she finished hunting she returned to the cave, guided only by the rising moon. As the light shined on the dragon, her body filled with rage. Her eyes glowed a deep red and she roared into the night. She took out her rage on the surrounding forest and wildlife. As the sun rose she collapsed outside the cave.

Slowly she arose and looked at her home. As she saw the destruction to her little home, her despair turned to rage. She promised to find the person responsible and set off to the west.

Soon she met an elder dragon who asked what she was doing.

"My forest was destroyed, would you have a clue who did it?" She asked.

"Allow me to see what i can do." the arcane dragon asked.

With that they returned to the cave. As the elder looked around he saw the glow inside the cave.

"What is this?" His calm voice asked. Moonlight saw he was referring to the meteorite she store in her cave. The same one she swallowed a piece of.

"Oh some meteorite. It crashed into the ground when i was born." She answered confused by his fascination. As she came closer to it the elder noticed her chest glowing a faint pink. He approached her and touched the dragons chest. He felt a warmth radiating from it, the same warmth that radiated from the meteorite. After a few awkward silent moments his face went from confusion to astonishment.

"Praise the arcanist! i have only heard of this but never thought it could be true. "

"What?" the dragon asked.
"You destroyed the forest."
"WHAT!" she growled at him.

"Let me explain. You experienced a phenomenon know as "primal flash". It happens when a cosmic outside force overwhelms your body causing you to act savagely. You will not be able to distinguish friend from foe. "

"The dragon looked at him devastated. She could have hurt someone.
"What can i do?" She asked sadly.
"You cannot reverse the effects but you can take measures to avoid hurting the innocent. Your best option is to isolate yourself during this time."
Moonlight sighed and looked down.
"May i?" The elder asked as he motioned to the meteorite.
"Yes please." She said.
"Wait till the arcanist gets a look at this."

The pair ate dinner and then parted ways. The elder taking the meteorite to the Arcanist. Moonlight Settling down to sleep.

FIGHTER

____Using her new found power moonlight traveled the world searching for worthy opponents. She often visits the plauge flight knowing those dragons like to fight. She is a ruthless fighter and follows her own rules, taking orders from noone. With each passing full moon her power becomes stronger and goes into isolation. Her reputation as a powerful fighter has earned her the nickname "The demon of the Moon."

SETTLING DOWN

____As the pair traveled Redbeard began to mourn the stable life he left. He often talked to moonlight about settling down, an idea she often scoffed at. However during a trip to the Tangled woods she was requested by the Shadowbinder. Impressed by the dragons strength the deity offered land to moonlight in exchange for her strength. After some convincing by Redbeard, the powerful migrant agreed to stay and protect her native land.

REDBEARD

____They met at a river. She stopped for a drink, he was getting water for his friends. He slowly went and introduced himself. She scoffed at him and walked away. About a week later he appeared outside her cave. Angered by his presence she went to fight him but he dropped a woodland turkey by her feet. The hardened dragon stared at the shy Redbeard before welcoming him into the cave. Shortly after that she convinced him to travel the world with her. To become strong and live by your own rules. To be free from responsibility. The bearded dragon was hesitant to leave his friends but agreed for his love to travel.

GEN 2

____Soon after settling into the tangled woods, moonlight and redbeard welcomed their first nest into the world. A nest the appropriately dubbed "GEN 2". As the small dragons emerged from their eggs, Moonlight vowed to give them the family she never had. While the matriarch is still cold at times, she now fights for her clan not just herself. She now must think her actions through and weigh risks vs reward. Although the dragon doesn't wander as much, she still goes into isolation once a month and still travels on occasion to fight strong enemies.

Fun Fact 1: Moonlight prefers brawn to brains because she is illiterate (unable to read or write).

Fun Fact 2: When away from her clan she wears a skull and bone antlers, as a result few outside her clan have seen her real face .

Fun Fact 3: Along with the skull and antlers, moonlight often wears the bones of defeated enemies as amour. An idea she got after visiting the plauge Flight.

Fun Fact 4: Moonlight has never found her birth family (mother and father) but continues to search for them. She has no idea that her parents died before her birth she also has no siblings.
