Avens | Errant Alchemist
Avens is a dedicated alchemist, but his results....vary. He is entirely willing to make mistakes, and look like a fool, as long as he learns from it. The Sanctuary has always encouraged his experimentation, but decided to draw the line at allowing him to serve his avant-garde baking at events (and to unsuspecting folk in general).
Even with the quirkiness, his more successful endeavors are nonetheless of great use to the clan. And when he's not so successful, well, at least he's very skilled at cleaning up magical messes.
He frequently works with Selenite, whose approach to alchemy is much more mathematical and precise, and guided by existing knowledge. One would think the careful and deliberate Spiral would quickly become impatient with the unpredictable Avens; however, Selenite treasures the insights and unique solutions (and the wonderfully entertaining spectacle) provided by the Pearlcatcher's unusual explorations.
