I had known I was connected to death since the moment I was born. That’s why I changed my name from Amethyst to Umrtia. It means death in Slovak. It fit much better.

Everyone in my immediate family was exalted, and died fighting against the beastclans. It was a shame, but it never bothered me too much. None of them believed what I did was true. They often called me a witch, but that’s not even close. Witches brew potions and spells, cause warts and diseases… Necromancers bring back the dead.

I started my studies very young, learning facts about dragon anatomy and neuroscience. I was truly fascinated by it, and it unwittingly led to strengthen my future. It started the day I saw a small frog die, of some kind of disease.
