Sunnis

Sunnis inspected the new land before him, then bowing his great, antlered head - it was not yet time for the antlers to be shed for the season, but he could feel the itch beginning - and slipped through the arch formed by the branches of the dark, close trees.

There was barely enough room for his frame here, and he nearly decided to take to the air to continue his travels, even if he must burst through the canopy to do so, when a flash of red caught his eye. He paused, tail flicking and whiskers twitching, as his eyes sought the source among the shadows.

A gleaming ruby Nocturne slunk down the trunk of a tree nearby and he narrowed his eyes warily. She tilted her head as she reached the ground and made a curious, friendly sound. Sunnis was not sociable as a whole, but he had been travelling alone for some time, and he missed company - and help with his growing-overlong mane. His wariness eased a little and he moved closer, only to startle as the Nocturne moved in a darting rush, but she was still not showing aggression as she lifted her head closer to his. Sunnis met the overture with a gentle nudge of his own, relaxing.
