Biography
Glory was found hanging on by a thread by Maxie and Altani. There was blood everywhere and the bodies of dead dragons could be found around her. Nobody knew what had happened but she was quickly rushed back and put in the care of Gabriel.
Gabriel healed what injuries he could but there was no change in Glory's condition. Maxie and Altani worried they had gotten there too late. Unable to think of the pain that the young Wildclaw was in, Gabriel was about to mix up a potion that would allow her to pass on peacefully, but that was when another member of the Sassmaster Clan intervened.
"I will save her." It was Data, the technical wizard. "And if for some reason I can't... then you may allow her to pass without pain." He nodded to Gabriel.
Much of the external damage had been healed but Glory's internal organs had been heavily damaged and Gabriel had been unable to treat it with magic. Data knew he had a lot to do but he reckoned he could save her.
Three weeks later, Gabriel was with Rhodochrosite as he mixed the potion. "Three weeks. That poor girl won't make it. I can't allow her to suffer any longer."
Rhodochrosite found Gabriel's arm and took hold of it, shaking her head. "There is no need. It seems that Data has worked a miracle." She pointed towards the entrance to her tent. "Look!"
And sure enough, there was Glory. She was standing tall, lightning coursing over the metal additions to her body and she looked more alive than ever.
"I don't believe it. How did he do it? I thought magic would have been enough..."
Data strode into the tent proudly and ruffled his feathered wings. "Don't dismiss technology, Gabriel. I think you've become so dependent on magic that you've lost your way."
Rhodochrosite nudged the Coatl gently. "How did you do it? I had no doubt you would save her but I want to know how."
"Sadly the internal damage was too much. Her heart was failing and her other vital organs weren't looking so good. I built her a mechanical heart and gave her new artificial organs. Thank goodness Altani kept on top of scavenging parts. And... it's all powered by a pack that was small enough to be grafted into the new mechanical spine I fitted, charged by movement and... those claws? I could graft metal claws onto her so that now she's a real fighting machine! She made a fantastic recovery."
"I wonder if she remembers how she came so close to death in the first place..."
