There have been rumors of a witch hiding away in the shadows, her horribly sickly skin hidden away under layers of fabric, bandages always stained with new blood, yet she still walks, as if such battered, decaying body were nothing. They say she knows of every illness plaguing the world, known or not to others, that her body has endured all of them, the last of many not as lucky to survive and thrive as she has. The stories tell of how this witch can place a curse on anyone if requested, that it will show in any kind of illness you desire, so long as you pay the adequate price for such a request— and be wary of showing her the respect she deserves, else she decides it best to turn the curse on you instead.

Cadentia hardly considers herself a witch, only a dragon cursed with the worst that the plague itself could offer, a survivor that can no longer perish. Her once bright and fiery scales and feathers turned dull, withering away, bleached by her sickness and stained by her own blood. Her body bleeds and aches from an illness that cannot be cured, yet doesn't kill her, never kills her. Some may think she is a walking corpse, by now.

She has come to loathe her own element after learning that whatever kind of illness affects her can never be truly cured, only managed. No matter how much pride other dragons following the Plaguebringer may take in it, she never asked for this, for this kind of life. Even when she has come to accept this is another aspect of her life, she refuses to welcome it, choosing instead to distance herself from the plague as much as she could, hiding away in the deepest corners of the underground city as soon as she discovered it and its many odd inhabitants.

Despite her acid and cinical attitude, quick to turn down anyone, one little coatl claiming himself to be a doctor took interest in her, offering nothing but kindness without judgement and cheerful smiles and genuine concern. Even when she didn't intend on befriending anyone, Cadentia found herself more or less stuck with a friend out of nowhere— and refuses to acknowledge she warmed up to him, either. She only insists that he is her doctor and leaves it at that if anyone ever tries to ask. He is, however, much more helpful than she ever expected, having found a handful of medicine that is at least effective enough to manage the worst of her illness and stave off the pain, something she certainly appreciates a lot. In return, she offers her quite vaste knowledge in various diseases.

Maybe she can still find some good around, after all.

Her home now lies in the depths of the underground, far away from prying eyes and annoying dragons. Nearly no one is aware of her cabin in the outskirts of the underground, well hidden away, and she is happy to keep it that way.

  • has become quite adept at medicine over the years. While she refuses to use the plague methods, she does rely heavily on natural toxins to refine into cures. Not good when it comes to injuries though, much more knowledgeable in diseases.
  • high affinity with plague magic due to her own condition, although she despises it and refuses to use any of that magic for as long as possible. Currently trying to find a way to use it to assist her in treatments instead.
