Pipseed

Clan Patriarch
Leader of the Mutating Ice clan. Embraced the necrotic arts when the clan fell to the ice, and has become a master infectionist. His fungus grows throughout the clan and allows him omnipresence within its walls.

"Of course we know where you hide little one. Your very life pulses and glows in a way that is very pleasing to the hyphae. All sound and heat and energy and smell and vitality - like a sizzling steak. Now get down here before you injure yourself."

Once a creature of the forest, Pipseed moved to the ice flows with Pillow when she decided she wanted to create a clan there. After Pillow became terribly infected and started mutating due to a plague infection during the riot of rot, Pipseed became obsessed with learning the dark arts of the infectionist. Like many Fae, Pipseed was quite adept at manipulating and harnessing the magic of the environment to cast spells. In order to control the mutations occurring in Pillow, he used this natural ability to control the flow of Plague magic running rampant in Pillow. His constant manipulation of the plague rot running through Pillow has caused him to become permanently bond to her, much like how many Fae become bound to the environment. Pipseed was able to halt the infection in Pillow before it proceeded too far, but carries his own marks of infection. He is infected with symbiotic fungus, but unlike many infectionists, Pipseed contains the urge to spread the infection to other dragons and generally stays near pillow. because Pipseed's magic tied to Pillow, he is able to naturally draw magic not only from his own reserves but also that of Pillow. Some speak behind the duos back that pipseed and pillow are symbiotic to each other, and that they could not physically live without the other.

A soft spoken and affable dragon, Pipseed is a content dragon and a passifist at heart. His Leafy Moth is a companion that has been with him from birth and reminds him of his younger days spent with his many siblings among the trees at focal point.

When the clan first started out, many members died to the cold reality of the Southern Icefields. After one particularly impact death, Pip conspired with DiscoSwamp to reverse fate. Together they decided they would abide the dwindling numbers of the clan no more and started to convert some of the populace to undead. Together with Harvest many of the clan were converted to sentient undead, the rest becoming shade touched zombies animated by the fungal spores of Pipseed to defend the clan. A gruesome but ultimately successful endeavor.

The fungus has fully seeded his body and brain. Only his powerful ability as a necromancer and infectionist has allowed him to keep his intelligence fully intact. The spores that drift from the body are rendered inert and non virulent by Pip's magic. Still, the bulging dead eyes and gently wafting fungus is enough to worry most dragons. Recently even the eyes have been consumed and all that is left is a wriggling hole of glowing viscera. A voice still comes out, monotone and wet.

The same fungus that sprout from his body grows around the lair. This creates a sort of hive-mind, and allows Pillow omnipresence within the clan walls. He knows all that goes on within the confines of the cave system, and others have learned to go to him if they are trying to find the location of a dragon or find out about past events. Very good for finding adventurous hatchlings. As of late, Pipseed often forgets to make eye contact or even look around since his physical eyes are quite nonexistent. He comes off very creepy. Will often make a fool of himself trying to be especially normal to guests of the clan.

His body can usually be found near the bubbling, warm facsimile Wyrmwound at the heart of the clan. Pipseed created the pit in order to carry out his plague experiments but has hired the Poison pair to manage it with the expansion of the lair and increased responsibilities.
