One of the first generation of Gaolers to re-introduce themselves into the modern world, Nadir is the only Ancient member of Home's faculty board. Previously shunned by Gaoler society for questioning the old ways, he is a very open-minded dragon but still cynical about Gaoler traditions. He takes the fact that he is the only Ancient on the faculty board seriously, and he feels as if he must always work to set a positive example for every Ancient resident at Home. A kind and gentle dragon, Nadir is a passionate and skilled healer. He is something of a magical prodigy, being exceptional in both elemental Ice magic and non-elemental charms, but has chosen to devote his life to healing. One of the most thoroughly skilled healers alive today, Nadir can easily mend broken bones and fix sprained tails. He is more tolerant of disobedience than many other professors, known for assigning a bit of extra homework over giving detentions, and he's known for always getting his students through their exams alright. Serious about teaching his subject and ensuring his students learn it, Nadir is nonetheless more understanding in the face of failure or misbehaviour than some of Home's other professors and his more laid-back and forgiving teaching style makes him particularly well-liked and respected by his students.

Wise, sensitive, and somewhat emotional, Nadir is not closely guarded with his emotions and possesses the emotional maturity to admit to what he is feeling. He doesn't mind telling students that they have disappointed him or telling his colleagues that they have hurt his feelings, and his emotional maturity often inspires the same openness in those he interacts with. Despite his great magical talent and skill, however, he can become easily flustered when complimented and tends to deflect praise off himself and onto others. He cares deeply for his students in Miðgarðr Hall and his door is always open for them - in fact, if a student comes to him in a right state, he likes to take candies from one of the tins in his desk and make them do a little dance in a rather impressive feat of non-elemental charming magic (even if they're not terribly upset, Miðgarðr students might find it worthwhile to pretend they are just to see this). Known for his forgiving nature, Nadir prefers not to punish his students for falling behind in their studies, instead assigning homework so they can catch up. As a Gaoler having lived through the re-introduction of the species, Nadir knows very well what it is like to be discriminated against because of who you are, and he often appoints himself as a mentor to students struggling with similar issues. A rather wise (if overly optimistic) dragon, he sees discrimination from other dragons as being indicative of ignorance rather than genuine malice. These experiences also make Nadir a very fair professor, treating all students with the same respect and high expectations and never disrespecting students based on their origins. Despite his sensitive and kind nature, Nadir's fair teaching and exceptional magical skill command the respect of his students, and he rarely has to address misbehaviour in his classes.
