Playwright
(Versed Writer) A writer of all disciplines and forms Milo had always had a large imagination for a hatchling. So much so that he wasn't even that old and he already had a following of other hatchlings, waiting with bated breath for his next story. As time went on, his stories got larger and more involved. So, to properly convey his story, he would drag in other hatchlings to play roles in the story opposite him. A malicious villain with an evil plan or a grief-stricken mother. As he grew, the story production grew as well, turning into huge plays with large casts of actors, musicians and behind-the-scenes crew. On the opening night of his most recent play, it was storming over the production hall, thick sheets of rain followed by loud claps of thunder and bright bolts of lightning. But still the hall was packed with bodies, all eager for the show. The play went smoothly up until the last act, in which the storm had reached its apex. Crashing thunder rattled the entire hall, and a murmur ran through the audience, the lashing of the rain increased against the floor to ceiling windows. Following the thunder, a thick bolt of lightning struck the top of building, shooting along the rafters of the ceiling to meet in the middle of the room in a moment of blinding light, right above the orchestra. Screams erupted amongst the audience, dragons stumbling over each other to get out of the hall. The orchestra dropped their instruments to escape but one younger dragon was left behind, holding their viola tightly in terror. The lightning had culminated in a bright ball of energy which dropped onto the fearful dragon below, engulfing them fully. What happened next was the most shocking thing Milo had ever seen, from his vantage point on the stage, the dragon and instrument became one. The poor dragon's soul became trapped in his beloved instrument, ghostly limbs sprouting from the sides of the viola as it dropped to the floor. Milo rushed towards it, gathering it up in his arms as it played a mournful tune. The hall had emptied by this time, leaving a grief-stricken Milo and his new familiar. Milo did everything he could to try to bring the dragon back but nothing worked so instead he took it on himself to care for the instrument. Soon they became close and the heart-wrenching music from the Ghosthost Viola became Milo's signature. |
