Full clan lore -
On November 14, 2019, this clan was revived. However, the current leaders of the clan had been talking of retiring for some time. A difficult choice was facing the clan; who would be there next leader?

The clan slowly began to divide in two. One bloodline, those of the current leaders Galaxy and Eldritch, thought that they should remain in charge. The other major bloodline, Azure and Shimmer's children, thought it was time for a change of power, one that left them in charge. Neither of the two bloodlines was extremely popular with the other clan members, many of which did not have families of there own.

As the two family's quarrels became more aggressive, the other members of the clan became more vocal in their opinion, that bloodlines weren't everything. The clan that had been unified for so long was slowly breaking apart.

Eventually, a young Skydancer named Turquoise came up with an idea to this problem. She proposed that the clan should split into three groups, the family of Azure and Shimmer, the family of Galaxy and Eldritch, and everyone else in the clan.

The dragons most opposed to this plan were the family of Horizon and Zonya. They were a proud family, who were highly offended at not being given a group of there own. To solve this problem, Turquoise simply added their group to the list. While they were satisfied, however many other smaller families in the clan were outraged.

Eldritch, however, leaped in to help Turquoise. She proclaimed that the groups should have rules, over who could and could not become an independent group. The clan eventually decided that any family with three or more generations currently active in the clan could qualify as an independent group. Many more rules were added to help organize and refine the newly divided clan.

So on December 15, 2019, the clan officially split apart into its new groups, and it looked like the fighting between the major families was finally over.

This new plan worked out very well for the newly divided clans. Each of the small groups could manage themselves, and the remaining dragons were alright with working together. The new clan, under the leadership of Synthpop, opened its arms wide to travelers. Many dragons came and left, and the clan was happy to accommodate them.

Over time, however, the new clan started to become dissatisfied. Some members thought that not all travelers and newcomers would be welcomed, for some of them were strange creatures. Unrest and uneasiness began to grow in the newer clan.

A group seeking to protect the clan and drive out all the new intruders spilt off from the group. A dragon named Garnet took control of the group and named it The Protectors. They worked to drive out some of their former clanmates, to the dismay of some. Eventually, Synthpop stepped in and formally exiled them. They left, and still live near by.

The others that The Protectors attempted to drive away still resided nearby as well. Under the leadership of Nameless, they built a small home which they called Sanctuary. This was a place where all beings were free to reside. The group protected itself from others, namely the Defenders. This group remained close ties with the remaining dragons, now known as Gust Clan. The groups lived separately for many months.

Eventually, disaster struck. Dragons from all of the clans began coming down with a strange illness. It would begin with headaches and tiredness. They would eventually fall into an unbreakable sleep as the final stage of the illness. As the disease affected more and more dragons, the remaining dragons began to work together. However, there was little they could do. It looked like the end was near.

That was, until they met a new being called Oversight. It was like nothing they had ever seen before. It promised to help them, if they made it the new leader of the clan. With no other options left, the remaining dragons agreed.

Oversight became the new absolute ruler of the clans. It unified them all into Contamination Zone 406167. Dragons that opposed its rule were sent away, and never seen again. Most of the dragons that stayed however, were locked in eternal sleep. New dragons were welcomed to the new society.

Oversight wanted to be sure that the mistakes of the past would not be repeated.

Gust Clan Era Rules

1 - Any family with three or more active generations in the clan can separate into their own group. These groups are governed however the family wants, and other groups cannot change the leadership system. (12-15-19)

2 - Dragons can marry into these larger family groups or small families can join through a Document of Union (found in bios) (12-15-19)

3 - Nests can and will only be hatched on the first of every month. The major families will rotate the use of these nests, changing every month. Smaller families or mated dragons have to decide which pair gets to use the other nest available. (12-15-19)
Dragons will now apply onto a waiting list and nests will be bred five days from the end of each month. Nests will hatch on the first of every month unless I'm not here... (1-13-20)

One nest will be hatched on the fist of each month to avoid overpopulation. A waiting list will be used to decide which pair is bred. (3-16-20)

4 - For every nest a dragon has that has at least one active dragon in the clan, that dragon can wear one piece of apparel. (12-15-19)

6 - Newly hatched dragons that are to be exalted must receive the name Gust. (12-15-19)

7 - Dragons over a year old can apply for Retirement. In Retirement, they lose their familiar, the ability to have eggs, and are no longer considered active. Dragons in Retirement are given smaller, easier tasks to manage. (12-15-19)

8 - Dragons who have had at least one nest are eligible for True Retirement. Dragons in True Retirement do not have to do the tasks of dragons in Retirement. (12-15-19)
