"Strength is not just in wielding power, but in using it to protect those who rely on you"
|
About As the clan stabilizes, he loosens the self-imposed restrictions he has placed upon himself and allows certain dragons to come close to him. During meals, he can be seen sitting next to the clan members, not drawing attention to his rank or creating a fuss. He even participates in festival events, although his involvement is often accompanied by grunts and a tough demeanor. However, the perception of Otto differs among the members of Solis Filiis. The clan recognizes him as a loner, someone who exudes an air of toughness. Many dragons wonder if there is a softer side to him, hidden beneath his stoic exterior, or what his personal interests might be. What they do know is that he is dependable, caring in his own way, and harbors a deep disdain for dragons who resort to lies and deceit to gain more than they deserve. Word has spread among travelers that attempting to exploit the clan behind Otto's back is a surefire way to invoke his wrath and be swiftly scared away. Otto's unwavering commitment to the well-being of the clan is evident to all, even if the depths of his true emotions remain a mystery. |
Familiar
Despite Otto's preference for solitude, he is not truly alone, for he has a faithful companion in Aurum, the Golden Kitsune. Aurum is an invaluable aid to Otto, assisting him in his daily tasks within Solis Filiis. Whether it's retrieving important scrolls or fetching bottles of ink, the kitsune tirelessly supports Otto in his duties. Their partnership is seamless, functioning with an uncanny synchronicity that both amazes and unnerves onlookers. Inseparable, Otto and Aurum are a constant presence together, even during meetings and gatherings. Aurum sits by Otto's side, keenly observing the reactions and expressions of council members and clanmates. The kitsune's presence adds an air of enigmatic wisdom, as if Aurum holds insights beyond that of a normal creature. However, the bond between Otto and Aurum is not without its limitations. Whenever Otto ventures to other clans for matters of importance, the two are separated. Many within Solis Filiis believe that Otto's unwavering protectiveness over Aurum stems from an underlying fear. Otto cannot bear the thought of something befalling the fox, and the weight of potential guilt would be too great for him to bear. As a result, it is easier for Otto to keep Aurum safely within the confines of their home, where the clan ensures the kitsune's well-being, providing for its needs. Yet, even in Aurum's temporary absence, the kitsune faithfully awaits Otto's return. From the steps of Otto's throneroom, the golden fox gazes towards the sky, yearning for the moment when its companion will once again grace the halls of Solis Filiis. |

History
|
Otto's early life was marred by loneliness and neglect. His parents were absent, and his grandmother, whom he encountered later, was a source of discomfort and mystery. She revealed to him the story of Naomi, his great-great-great-great-grandmother, and the significance of his bloodline. With a sense of rejection, Otto was left alone at the clan's border, navigating an unknown world. Remaining within the boundaries of the Light domain, Otto matured and acquired knowledge from observing other dragon clans and imagining alternative upbringing scenarios. During his adolescence, he encountered other lost dragons and extended his care to them, vowing to never repeat the mistreatment he had experienced. Close to adulthood, Otto crossed paths with an imperial named Aravi, who was serving as a maildragon for a distant clan. Aravi showed kindness to Otto and his newfound family. Recognizing the potential for a better life, Otto agreed to accompany Aravi and their group to the Arcane domain, where they were welcomed with warmth and acceptance. Feeling like an outsider due to his lack of experience with affection and care, Otto chose to observe and learn from the leaders in the Arcane clan. As he witnessed the inadequate leadership of Meryll, the then-leader, Otto grew increasingly frustrated. He had spent his life deprived of love and support, yet he had dedicated himself to caring for his newfound family. Confronting Meryll, Otto presented him with a choice: prioritize his son's needs or relinquish clan leadership to Otto. Meryll readily chose the latter. On the day marking the end of his adolescence, Otto assumed control of the clan. Although young, he quickly grasped the workings of leadership and implemented effective strategies. He treated his clanmates with respect and streamlined responsibilities for all members. Under his guidance, the clan thrived, ensuring the well-being, security, and happiness of its inhabitants. However, Otto's personal life remained dormant throughout this period of rebuilding. Focused on stabilizing and strengthening the clan, he isolated himself within the leader's den, engrossed in mapping and administrative tasks. When the clan finally reached a state of stability, Otto maintained his self-imposed solitude. The prospect of a mate and the complications it might bring held no appeal to him. He was content to forgo a lineage of his own, determined to prevent any further troubles associated with his heritage. |
