Beta is the leader if the tribe, and takes her position rather seriously. She rules with an iron claw, but knows when to show mercy. her leader-like personality caused many to join her, and many dragons admire her. But even the best leaders need someone to talk to, and her Beta, that dragon is Hymn. Hymn is someone she respects, and always puts deep thought into what he says. There are many rumors about the pair, but ultimately, both the nocturne and the skydancer will put the tribe before their own relationships.

Beta comes from the scorching hot territory of the Flamecaller. She will always hold a special place in her heart for the Ashfall Waste, but her home is in the plateau. She was always destined for greatness, but when she was a hatchling, she enjoyed spending her time alone, playing among the volcanic rocks. She eventually left her home, traveling the vast land of Sornieth before stumbling along a dragon in the Windswept Plateau. This dragon, on the brink of death, begged Beta for save them. She spent several months nursing them to health, never leaving their side. They talked to her relentlessly, telling her stories of their life. The nocturne listened silently, and once they were healed, that dragon bowed to her, saying "I am in your debt. I will follow you for as long as I live."

Together with the dragon, Beta created the tribe. The leader has told this story countless times to curious ears, but she has never given the identity of this dragon to her tribe (as per their wish).

Once, Beta paid a visit back to her homeland, after listening to the oracle siblings' advice. After wandering the volcanic rocks and paying respects to acquaintances, she came across a lone fire egg. She figured out that this was the reason for being sent there, and took it back to her home. She cared for the egg as if it was her own, keeping it warm for six days before it finally hatched to the dragon known as Slythe. She recognizes herself as Slythe's mother and, on top of being leader of the tribe, devoted herself to raising him. When she's busy, Kaiju watches over the baby nocturne. She knows that they're practicing the art of pranks, and gets a good chuckle out of Hymn's reports.

Despite being a creature of destruction, Beta's gale wolf (named Aella) only obeys the dragons of the tribe. Aella has a special relationship with the tribe leader, and will follow her anywhere. She is fully capable and will bring about destruction if commanded to do so. Other then that, she's actually quite lazy and likes to deform into a gentle breeze while napping. Sometimes she gets lost while sleeping and Beta has to go out and find her.
