Although Tonalli may be new to the caverns, she has found allies, maybe even true friends. Her allies, however, are those with their minds clinging to the past. Because of this her allies have been unable to look beyond their own dreams of nostalgia. Personal reflection can be beneficial too, so even if her allies fixation on the past may stir up some conflict, there may be unseen benefits that will bubble up from the aftermath.

Tonalli's enemies are in ways, just as distracted by their own thoughts as her allies are. The differences lie within the fact that instead of dwelling on a past that cannot be changed, they focus on selfish goals and are transfixed by ways to achieve those goals. Her enemies are very self reliant and focused on the path ahead and a future where they will be in control. What makes her enemies dangerous in comparison to her allies is an explosiveness of emotion that makes them unpredictable even to themselves.

There is a deception at play. Both allies and enemies are lying to Tonalli and she's caught in the middle of it all. Both sides have secrets better left in the darkness and there are different stakes to each separate secret. Perhaps Tonalli's allies are keeping that they are simply using her to uncover what their enemies have planned, or maybe there's a deeper deception at play and an ally will become an enemy. Tonalli's enemies secrets are of a more strategic nature, pertaining to plans and plots to see Tonalli's allies toppled and a new power take hold of control. Tonalli even has her own secret to keep, her perception that has aided allies out of the depths of their nostalgia will catch on to a thread of the plot and aid in seeing it unraveled...

The revelation of this card makes the deception of the previous card all the more clear, and secures the certainty that it will be uncovered and the plot thwarted. Tonalli's enemies were the deceivers, even after an attempt to make it seem as if her allies were the ones to turn against her, the truth will come to light and they will falter because of it. Tonalli used her own deception to reveal this to her allies and secure victory. This success over deception empowers Tonalli and will give her a reputation as being observant and an asset to the caverns.

The reason for this whole conflict is simple; greed. Tonalli's enemies are enraptured by the need for more, for higher standing, for greater wealth...simply for more.

In Summary
Tonalli's arrival to the caverns may be alienating at first for her, and it may seem as if her place may be to be nothing more than a quiet contributor the plot for power on the part of her enemies will prove to more than just herself that she's worth more than a fly on the wall. At first she'll grow close to her allies, who will be caught in the past, trying to hide in the perfect memories of the past to distract from the monotony of the present. The shortsightedness that will come from this will blind her allies to the threat the enemies pose. Their greed will be obvious, hoarding more trinkets and more gold than they ever have. Greed leads to envy and the eyes of the enemies will find themselves square on what Tonalli's allies possess. Not caught in the past and able to see beyond memories, Tonalli will make a move that could be dangerous given the explosive emotional outbursts of her enemies. But she will approach them under the guise of giving her enemies the secrets of her allies. Her deception is convincing enough for her enemies to believe and instead of making a move to secure power and treasure they instead walk themselves into a trap that will expose their greed and nefarious plans. Tonalli will be upheld within the caverns as a friend and observant ally, worth more than being simply another contributor..
