Beowyr, or Beo as he prefers to be called, is the Guardian of the lair. Friendly and loyal, yet fiercely protective, he will guard hatchlings with his life. He and Faera, along with their older sister Sylvara, began the Spyrefall Clan, named after the Spyre Falls of their home.

He started his life deep in the Crystalspine Reaches of the Starfall Isles, near the Spyre Falls. He has no mother or father; instead, his egg was created from a falling star and hatched at the dawn of winter. Despite being Arcane in nature, he is more like an Ice dragon than one would expect; he is impervious to the cold, although he favors scarves and other such wintery apparel.

Although he prefers to guard the hatchlings, as the clan grew in size Beo has become the de facto leader. His loyalty to those he calls friends paired with his determination to guard those he loves makes him perfect for the position, and although he sometimes wishes they wouldn't the others commonly come to him for advice and to act as mediator. He doesn't believe he should be the leader; he has the firm belief that Sylvara should take up that role. But Sylvara and Meg both assure him that there is no one better for the job, and so he takes on the role with responsibility, if not necessarily pride.

Beo's familiar, Wächter, helps him in guarding and caring for the young ones. He may look tough and fierce, but is really a huge softie with a love for children and a penchant for worrying. He commonly acts as a jungle gym for the clan's hatchling's.

For a while, Beo was actually very lonely. He was friends with Faera, true, and had Sylvara as a wonderful sister, but he wanted to find a true friend someday, someone who would balance him out. As time wore on Beo grew more and more morose, convinced he would never find who he was looking for, until the day a strange Wildclaw appeared.

That Wildclaw's name was Meghan, and in her Beowyr found the friend he had been searching for all this time. Her stern manner balances his own friendly personality out perfectly, and her status as his unofficial guard keeps him out of trouble. Together they make a great team, and are indeed partners in the Sornieth International Investigative Services, a position which always makes Sylvava nervous.

Beo loves to mix brews. He says it is a lot like baking.
