NOTES
ORIGINS |
(treh-mehn-th) Up until Xilu and Peryite became lovers, Trementhe and Caerven were arguably Tuchariin's 'power couple'. Caerven loves subtly decorating Trementhe's person with flowers for him to discover later — a flower braided into the hair behind his ear; a small ring of flowers around one of his fingers; a magically reinforced flower (to keep it from being crushed) slipped into a pocket. —It's done so regularly that Trem often doesn't realize it until someone else points it out (if they even notice it, that is). Enriched with a political background, and used to being kept extremely busy and stretched thin, Trementhe serves as one of the clan's ambassadors, as well as the event organizer and treasurer. He spends his days traveling with his mate to allied clans, discussing trade agreements with potential suppliers and merchants, planning for future events, and everything else in between. When he manages to have a chance to catch a breather, either at night or on a (rare) day off, he fiercely avoids the public. His preferred ways to pass the time are sleeping, spending time with his mate, and reading fiction. In an effort to prepare to become a florist, and also as a way to spend time with his mate, he and Caerven visit other flower and herb shops to inquire about the trade, for advice, and to study the competition. The oldest son of Marquess Solus, Lord Trementhe was set to inherit his title. Unlike his father, who had informal social power, Trementhe decided to pursue formal power by becoming a politician. It was also assumed by many that he'd take one of the Royal Triplets as his mate, which would bump his title to Duke. Since he's incredibly shrewd and careful to never reveal all his cards, his ambiguity on the matter only encouraged the rumors. Contrary to many politicians, Trementhe continually made sure to keep his word, despite how much it was said to hinder himself in the end, and this, as a result, only helped to make him more popular and reputable. He saw the potential for opportunities created by the recent revolutionizing of their market and advocated heavily for policies that encouraged businesses to flourish, working very hard to push through trade agreements that favored the Court without harming the local craftsmen. Although far less jovial than his father, he always made sure to put on a friendly face and rub elbows when necessary. Due to the fact that he rarely spoke of anything but business and politics when in public, even though others knew how well studied he was, it led some to wonder if he enjoyed his job at all. He often attended lectures, but was always scarce when the Court held the more artistic events, choosing instead to attend the afterparties. As if they were meant to cross paths, the Lord met Caerven, a shy skydancer, at an afterparty. Immediately drawn to him, he realized that, for the first time in his life, he felt both content with silence and with being in another's presence. Quickly becoming a staple in each other's lives, they found that they shared an enjoyment for hunting and fishing — neither minding that they never actually caught much game — and Caerven showed him the ropes of gardening; to Trementhe's surprise, he found that he fancied the activity a lot more than he originally believed. A short time later, Trementhe decided that life in the Court wasn't for him anymore, especially when negative rumors about Caerven surfaced. The pair left soon after he announced his decision, and they aimlessly traveled Sornieth in search of a new home. |
