The single egg was hatched as his mother huddled over him, trying to protect her brood from the ice storm whipping across the lair.

Eleison was a plea toward whatever deities might be willing to hear the starving clan. His mother, infertile from malnutrition, had been ridiculed when she made the decision to have a child in such trying times, and when only one egg in the nest remained healthy enough to hatch, she was scorned and reviled. The child of such tragedy was no different.

Eleison did not stay in his home clan for long, much to his mother's dismay. He felt no love for either of his parents; his mother he considered pitiful, and was bitter for the disease she had passed on to him. The gaping wounds all across his flank that would never close were identical to hers, and he resented her choice to bear children with such a malady. She had once been a revered fighter, too; why not remain such? His father, he had seen little of, and he didn't care to. He knew his lot in life if he stayed in that clan, and it wasn't one he cared to keep.

The mirror flew north to seek out work. His first few jobs bored him endlessly. The only clans willing to take such a grisly dragon on were poor and feeble, and he was paid a pittance for his work. Sometimes he wasn't paid at all, and it scratched at him that he couldn't force larger dragons to give him his wages.

For a time he fell in with feral clans. They disgusted him, these mirror packs, but he stayed with them long enough to learn their ways. Soon he could hunt as skillfully as any of them, and kill without a second thought. With his new skills, he took the money he had saved up as a child, purchased more suitable armor for himself, and then Eleison sought out only the darkest of work; assassination.

He had inherited his mother's strength, and hunting with wild mirrors had taught him how to walk silently on the pads of his paws and track his targets. His new work payed well, and to him it was the only thing that could excite him enough to keep his interest.

After a few months of this line of work, Eleison was found by a very wealthy dragon, Tsoriken, seeking to destroy the Fletching Clan's founders and take their place himself. He payed Eleison an enormous sum to enter the clan disguised as an ordinary member, and carry out assassinations slowly so as to break it from the inside out. Eleison did his work well, but the rebel failed in the end. He slipped quietly away during what he knew would be a futile attack, and went to find new clients.
