Unable to form close bonds with any of them, the relationship gap only widened when he was old enough to understand what they did. Knowing that he could never condone it, Cev worked hard to keep his feelings about the matter a secret. Knowing that he wouldn't last long if, or when, he would be forced into the profession, he dreamed for a better, more fulfilling life. When the clan left on missions, he spent his days learning about whatever he could get his hands on; all while stashing away as much food and coin as he was able. On such a lonely night, he finally mustered up his courage, gathered his few possessions, and left without leaving a note — never looked back. The imperial spent many anxious days and nights traveling. He broadened his horizons and searched for a suitable place to settle down, all while offering his writing skills in exchange for food or treasure. Cev's perseverance eventually led him to Ice. |
