Kairos arrived at the Suncircle Clan in the back of a trading wagon, deciding, with a certainty that surprised many of his new clanmates, that this clan was where he would choose to spend his young life. They quickly learned that such decisiveness was part of the young dragon's nature, and that in spite of his youth, he possessed a strong intuition and a knack for making difficult choices.
He befriended one of the clan's elders, an orange Coatl named Kyril, and as he grew older he developed his natural gifts to become a mediator. He also met his mate, Chronos, a plain but kindhearted Tundra who also happened to have a photographic memory. Together they had many hatchlings; while several of them went on to other loving clans, the majority of them went to serve in the Stormcatcher's Employee Management division, where they worked to resolve conflicts like their parents did in the Suncircle.
But Kairos' happiness was shattered when Chronos went missing. He searched and searched for her, but found no trace of her until he found her favorite brown cloak, tattered and dusty, at the bottom of a ravine in the middle of Harpy territory. He repaired the cloak in memory of her, but was unable to mend his broken heart so easily. For a time, he turned to fighting to ease his pain, but found that his obsession with revenge had sucked the joy out of his daily life.
With the same certainty that had brought him to the Suncircle, Kairos now knew that it was time for him to move on. He turned his hourglass, the symbol of his authority as a mediator, over to his friend Kyril, bid his first clan farewell, and set off on his travels with his former mate's cloak in tow. Perhaps out in the world, he would be able to find new friends, new experiences, and new loves that would bring joy back into his life and heal the pain in his heart.
