As the leading practitioner of magic in a clan that focuses heavily on science and technology, Tyrith has always had a tendency to stand out from the crowd. However, beneath his introverted and absentminded demeanor lies a mind like a steel trap, undaunted in the face of skepticism or opposition and utterly devoted to the advancement of his studies and his craft.
Tyrith's excellent memory and knack for calligrimancy have served him well in his tenure as the Suncircle's head magician. Able to read and absorb vast amounts of knowledge, Tyrith has been known to hole up in the clan's library for days at a time while he perfects a new spell. While his creative bent has led him to design several unique sets of runecharms, his research skills are what enable him to excel in the field of Word magic. Many of Tyrith's most powerful spells incorporate years of research from dragons before him, condensed and synthesized into a single circle or series of runecharms that performs better than its predecessors while requiring less energy to write and cast. His runic tattoos are of his own design and give him perfect bearings while he is in flight. His armor is also inlaid with protective runes, and his glasses allow him to see through many basic enchantments.
While he tends to focus more on his work than his relationships, Tyrith nonetheless maintains a close and loving relationship with his mate, Circe. Several of their children have gone on to magical prominence in other clans. Four of his children - Lasgalen, Anduin, Eldamar, and Eriador - live together among the Suncircle's closest allies, a powerful Wind clan. Lasgalen and Anduin's children form the lineage known as the Celestial Runners; one of these youngsters, a son of Lasgalen's named Aconitum, is a source of particular pride and worry for Tyrith, as the dragon's kind heart is in no way matched by the deadly nature of his magic.
