Koowhaiwhai

Painted Ornament, the Warrior

Originally of clan Dovaxy, she arrived as a gift from Lighting Flight. Koowhaiwhai is part of the hunting team formed by Maru and Marama. She is one of the earliest dragons to join the clan, it's most accomplished warrior, and Maru's closest friend. She holds the rank of mataiapo.

She is technically a member of the mirror pack, although she is now lairing with her mate. She was allowed to choose her own mate, and although she is not formally part of any breeding program, is considered of high breeding and in line for gene upgrades. She has had one failed clutch with Kahurangi, and has since chosen her own mate, Kootiri.

Koowhaiwhai practices the art of battle meditation, meaning she is slow to get started, but unstoppable when she gets going.

Koo is a true eccentric, and her thought processes are hard to follow. Hatchlings who ask too many questions may be sent to "ask Auntie Koo," which can keep them entertained for hours. She is also fascinated by nests and eggs. Since clan law prohibits anyone but the parents or the nest guardian to approach nests, she if often in trouble for trying to sneak peeks.
