By clan law, those born of a foundling egg are sacred and forbidden to take a mate.

Tarutahitama broke the law. He has taken a mate of the plague flight, Tarutahihime. In disfavor, the couple leave to take up service as mercenaries in Damien's army.

He is eager to learn of his plague heritage, something Tarutahihime can teach him.
