Sharlys inherited her father's love for machination, and the deep curiosity for the many tiny gears and cogs that make trinkets work.

Her childhood found her growing up with a roving band of hunters at her father's side, and their tent was often littered with the loose cogs of items taken apart that were never quite put back together the same way. This behavior was never discouraged - it allowed her creativity to flourish, and her ability to improvise and jury-rig things as needed only ever improved.

The hunter's life wasn't much one for Sharlys though, and so as an adult she bid her family adieu, and set off to look for somewhere to hone her skills in at least relative peace. In the interim, she often stayed with beastclans, where she could find a lot of free-lance work and build a decent reputation.

Her small projects often brought great help to these peoples, and that great help brought Sharlys a strong sense of accomplishment and pride. That was her greatest wish, she realized - for her passion to above all, be used to help other in their day to day lives. A step towards helping a fellow Sorniethan live their best possible life was a step towards finding the ultimate happiness, in Sharlys' eyes. It was the greatest dream of all.
