Each and every day, Poppy bonds with the familiars and companions who have sworn loyalty to the Clan. She is dearly beloved by companions of all sizes, from Petal Jumper to Protobeast; in fact, one might say that she is in least need of knowledge of self defense in the entire Clan. If she is threatened or even - horror of all horrors - attacked by any beast or being, big or small, whomever is accompanying her will rush to her defense with vigor. If her current companion is incapable of defense, magical or physical, her Hurricane Herald will coalesce and batter the assailant until more help arrives. |
Though she adores all familiars to an almost impossible degree, Poppy has found a more personal companion in a previously wandering Hurricane Herald - an acolyte of the Windsinger. The Herald orchestrates Poppy's daily schedules, and has the power to intervene if any companions get overeager (or are reluctant to leave). Information on necessary treatment and specialized diet for each Familiar is recorded on a seemingly endless supply of parchment in a flowing, curling script. If any companions desire privacy, the Herald dissolves into the Wind; though, no matter the situation, he is always watching, waiting. | Almost despite her intentions, Poppy's bonds with the beasts of the land have brought luck and advantage to the Clan. Familiars that travel, or cannot reside within the walls of the Lair - Maren allies, Wintermane companions, and a multitude of wandering birds - return to the lair periodically; as they converse with Poppy, information pours out in an endless stream. Weather patterns, locations of the roaming Harpy flocks, sightings of rare beasts and herbs, and much more are revealed. As each creature talks, the Herald records on his scroll, quiet as a whisper. |
