The sugar dragons of the Luscious Lagoon are cheerleaders. They prefer to be pleasant and energizing, like the sugar cane they harvest. Of all the dragons, sugar dragons are the most optimistic, preferring to find the good in every situation. Preserved fruits and kitchen tools are their favored treasures.

Region Population
~600

The lagoon's beaches sparkle in the sunlight, and the sugar cane fields sway in the wind. The air is nearly always humid and sticky, but it carries pleasant scents of fruits, flowers and candymaking. This land was developed by the Confectioner, a malleable, translucent being of pure sugar. Her Royal Viscosity reigns from the tallest peak with her most exalted subjects, mastering new sugarcraft techniques and growing special plants that can only be found there out of all of Jornieth.


Granulated Shores
Alongside the lagoon are beautiful beaches, with lush gardens here and there that benefit from the curious, fertile soil this close to the water. Hatchlings love to play here and in the lagoon itself, as it is safe to splash about in the vast shallows.

Fruitful Plains
The clans of the Sugar Flight have divided up the territory between the beaches and the foothills among themselves. Within each clan's land, there is usually a large space for farming surrounding one or more villages or cities. This subregion is the source of the flight's sugar cane, fruit, vegetables, nuts, honey, and livestock. As the plains approach the foothills, there is a small region warm enough to grow cocoa beans.

Soda Springs
These strange, bubbling springs are found only in the Sugar Flight's foothills. Their soda may be drunk as-is, with its unique sweet-but-bitter taste, or processed into other forms. Legends say that swimming in them may have magical effects, but some dragons suspect that this was an invention by hatchlings to have an excuse to bathe in soda.

Crystallized Mountains
Here the Confectioner's magic is strongest, turning the mountaintops from rock into fertile soil suitable for agricultural research. Sugar dragons work tirelessly in the great spun-sugar palace on the tallest peak.

Comfit Castle
As the seat of leadership for the largest clan in the region, the castle of Comfit Kingdom is the hub of both industry and social structure... [include visual details and what kind of dragons live here]

Sweet Sanctum
This building houses a magical apparatus built to monitor the ley energies flowing throughout the Luscious Lagoon. The Arcane flight built these sanctums throughout Jornieth where permission was granted, under the condition that they would share the information with everyone. The invaluable analysis that the Sweet Sanctum provides on the strength of latent elemental magic is displayed on the outside of the building and relayed to both Comfit Castle and the Arcane flight.

* Since the land is so dragon-developed, there are not many large creatures here other than dragons; the wildlife tends to be the size of ordinary birds, rodents and lizards.
* Unlike those of most elements, practitioners of sugar magic are few and reclusive.
* Sugar dragons usually have white eyes, though caramel-colored and candy-colored eyes can be found as well.
