Liawy (Chief):
As the Liawy of the clan it is Ismaiel’s duty to look after all its individuals no matter their status or origin. He is to organize everything from gathering, hunting and preserving the foods for later consumption to keeping the territory save from outsiders wanting to claim the lands for themselves.

At the same time he needs to be open to suggestions from the clan about the clan’s future as well as receive guests and ambassadors from other clans – be they of shadowflight or not.

About Ismaiel:

Ismaiel’s personality often gets in the way with his duties to the clan. He is a loner and prefers to hunt on his own. He is easily annoyed by others following him around or expecting him to comply with their wishes. He did not want to be the Liawy of the clan – but back when the clan was just his former mate and him he did not have much choice to pick up the mantle of a leader.

Unchallenged by the many other members that came to the clan gradually he still holds that position if unwillingly. Over time he came to see it as necessary for the clan that he continues to be their Liawy – someone needs to lead and no one else was willing or as prepared to do so as he now is – because even with his unwillingness to lead he learned much over the many years as head of the clan.

That does not mean of course that he won’t hand of quite a lot of his duties to dragons more specialized in this field. As his daughter would always mumble: “An all-rounder to keep everything together, many specialists to keep everything afloat.”
