Kero Firestar is one of the four leaders of the Great Iron-Forged Empire. She is also one of the two original founders alongside Borix, having helped create the original clan years ago, when it was formerly named The Bubbling Pit. She helps oversee the military for she isn't really the diplomatic type; she leaves that job to Borix and Aldll.

She's the leader seen least by the public, choosing to go out only when there are less individuals mingling about. She doesn't care for social interaction, doesn't like it when unnecessary attention is on her, and it doesn't help that she has a very difficult time trusting others, thanks to a betrayal she dealt with when she was younger. That being said, when the leaders feel like they have to go public, she will be there, though she doesn't talk much until it's needed.

She's most likely to be seen around the palace, especially just outside of it, or observing the trainees of the military. She does like overseeing the main battle trainer, Gazini, as he trains dragons who want to help in the military, sometimes even on occasion, jumping in to help on a bad or slow day. Other days, she'll go and observe the other individuals who do battle training, such as Johnson or Reerqua, to see how they're doing. She doesn't typically jump in to help them, since they tend to have a smaller load than Gazini, but in recent days, after a severe event that left him crippled, she will move in to help Johnson if it's obvious he's having issues in some way (often with him protesting, of course).

One other place that she has a tendency to be is among a few rocky outcroppings that stick out of the Furnace's side that face the ocean. Most of them are just large enough for her to lie on them comfortably, and she usually spends time in that general area when she doesn't want to be bothered or when she doesn't want to interact with anyone. It provides a great view of the ocean, the Blacksand Annex, some of the Empire's borders along with some of the outskirts (including Firefall Forest), and the farming communities below. There have been a few times that Kero caught sight of something going on at the borders or in the outskirts, which resulted in her jumping down from her perch and intervening if necessary.

Unbeknownst to most individuals, Kero also happens to be a demigod, formed years ago in an egg that was gifted to an old, large Fire clan, by the Flamecaller Herself. She learned this fact not long after she had met Borix; just in time for their children to be born. She quickly learned to hide her aura and taught her children to do the same early on, knowing that with her new role, having such a thing on display would be painting a target on their backs. Only the ones closest to her and a few important figures know this fact; the only ones she can trust to keep the information safe.

Her temper is well-known, even if she doesn't seem as angry as she used to be. It seems that being a leader has taught her some restraint, for over the past few years, she has gotten less impulsive and less likely to snap at someone in annoyance or anger. She still very much has a temper; she just has gotten better at holding back, and will only snap if something really angered her or she's stressed out.

Her first encounter with Borix was when he saved her life. He had rushed in while she was being barraged by harpies from almost every direction, preventing them from taking her life in the end. He helped her recover from her injuries, protecting her when she was vulnerable, making sure she got food.

And while they spent time there, they decided to start a family and eventually, a clan. They had gotten together as a couple as well, both of them having feelings for each other that were made apparent as time passed. Feelings that eventually faded away, and after their second nest, they broke up mutually. A third nest eventually happened to help gain alliances, but that didn't change a thing when it came to their relationship.

It's likely the young Snapper was abandoned, and they both knew that there was a good chance she wouldn't survive out there, due to her age and the fact that she was an Ice dragon.

Kero was actually "created" in a way, not born from a pair of two other dragons. The Flamecaller Herself brought Kero into being, forging her existence from a fiery egg that had bubbled up from the surface of the wastes. Due to this, Kero is a child of the Flamecaller, though she wouldn't know that fact for years to come.

She was left in a large clan that the Flamecaller trusted to protect her, to be raised by the current leaders of said clan. Kero doesn't remember the name of the clan, nor does she remember many details of her early life.

★ Has a large acid burn scar on her right front leg/right arm that covers the majority of the outside of it, which also bleeds onto the shoulder, top of hand, and her upper side/arm pit as well.
★★ She keeps that arm and her other front leg/arm wrapped completely up. Both are wrapped up because she doesn't want to bring attention to one being badly damaged. She can still use the arm just fine; at least fine enough that there isn't an obvious difference between the use of either arm.
★★ It actually does cause her a fair bit of pain, seeing that as it wasn't quite serious enough to kill off nerve endings. Thankfully, she also has a good pain tolerance, so the ambient pain it causes doesn't usually affect her outwardly. Not many know about the injury either, though one of the ones who does know is Aldll, who helps her with pain management and whatnot.
★ The fur on her tail is completely natural and she's always had at least a tuft since she was a hatchling.
★ Her roundhorns are also natural, though they didn't start growing in until well into her adulthood. They're fully in now, though she did not enjoy the headaches they brought. She does use them to help in fights; she does like the fact she has the ability to headbutt now.
★ Her skin/scales where there's bright orange are always hot to the touch, and when she's angry enough, smoke will curl up from it.
★ Not very many know that she's a child of the Flamecaller; she keeps that a secret for a very good reason. She's advised her children to keep it hidden as well, for she does not want them being targeted due to their lineage. Kero and her children also keep their auras hidden so they can't be detected in that way, either. Keeping it hidden is second nature to her now since she has been doing it for so long.
★ She has quite the filthy mouth; swearing is common with her, though she does try to reign it in if she's talking about something important.
★ Isn't the biggest fan of wearing jewelry in general, other than her fillet, but will oblige (hesitantly) for the sake of tradition when participating in something formal.
★ Has a high alcohol tolerance, high enough that it's also difficult to get her just tipsy. Good thing, she quite enjoys alcohol as a whole.
★ Also has a heavy enjoyment for all things spicy. Ghost pepper is actually a favourite.
★ Kero is not her real name. Only one dragon in the Empire knows her real name: a Nocturne named Embyr, a dragon she grew up with. However, even she doesn't use it to address Kero, for she doesn't want the name to be used again if she can help it.
★ After the event that Borix saved her from, she depises Harpies for the most part. She tries not to interact with them as much as she can due to this.
★ When the Gaolers first appeared, she found herself harboring a deep distrust for them, though she wasn't sure why at first. It wasn't long after Banescales first appeared, starting with the newly hatched Harmony, and she learned the story behind the breed, that the reason became clear.
★★ She still has a hard time trusting Gaolers as a whole, especially ones of the Ice element. She's still not sure how to feel about one being on the Council, though she did not contest his right to be there. There was a good reason for him to join; doesn't mean she has to enjoy that fact. That being said, she does her best to keep any prejudice from showing.
★★ She is also very protective of all Banescales, especially the hatched originals. She will not hesitate to keep any of them safe from harm no matter the consequences.
★ Has always been protective of her own children, adopted included, but it has definitely ramped up since her youngest daughter, Hestia, disappeared. Even Prometheus, who was able to sense that something happened, isn't sure if she's dead or alive somewhere.
★ Is not fond of large bodies of water at all and prefers to stay away from them, thanks. It's not a fear of some sort; it's just a dislike, and she will go near/in if it's absolutely needed.
★ Has a scar over her larger right eye, and she is slowly losing her vision in that eye. At this point in time, it's not too terrible, though using her heat vision isn't exactly comfortable.
★ Yes, she may lash out in anger less often then she used to, she still doesn't exactly look friendly. She rarely smiles, especially not in public, and she has what some dragons refer to as a "resting harpy face".
