Ateula

The Mother wished for the ranks of the Scourge to be thinned, and she withdrew her aid from them when they threw themselves against an opponent too strong and too well prepared. The Scourge could have died that day. But Ateula survived, along with his mate Agrona. He learned and adapted, inheriting the title of First Scourge.

Strict and militaristic, Ateula's aggression is only tempered by strategic caution. He rebuilds the Scourge under the firm belief that the Mother is guiding him, often through the words of his mate. He views the clan not as a group of entities allied to him, but rather as a piece of himself. He will accept no rebellion from his clan just as he accepts no rebellion of body. Violently passionate, he has clear favorites among the ranks though his deep and abiding love is only for Agrona. Though usually a dragon of few words, his thoughts are rarely simple, often full of ideas he's not even sure how to express. Agrona is the only one who knows and is permitted to call him by his given name.
