Khari
Scholarly, royal, dignified, and kind. "Khari- Like a King. (Swahili)" Khari's parents always joked that he was born with a spell on his tongue- his natural gift with magic has served him well throughout the years, though it's not the kind that can be useful in a fight. He specializes in illusion and alteration, both schools which are sometimes considered underhanded and more frequently seen in shadow dragons. He blames his father for his talent with them, and his mother for his ability to almost float through the air thanks to the flights they originated from. Khari has royal blood, but the small kingdom his parents ruled over was destroyed after a dark monster ravaged it, killing everyone. He's devoted his life to researching the shade ever since, convinced it was some strange offshoot of it, or a monster sent by it to wreak havoc. Although they were able to defeat it, there was nothing left except for a handful of dragons who had no clan to return to and who, one by one, trickled off into nearby villages, never to return. Khari also chose to leave after the incident, and he never saw his parents again after they parted ways. He received a separate letter from each of them detailing their chosen paths- their beliefs had split and so had they, his mother going on to serve the lightweaver and his father becoming a warrior of the plaguebringer. They had parted on good terms, despite the tension of their differing beliefs. He found himself wandering towards the sunbeam ruins when he first received his mother's letter, but he ended up staying when he met Corium and decided to settle down with her in her clan, though she's since moved on to the lightweaver. He still studies the shade and the various arcane magicks, trying to one day truly master the arcane and become one with the elements. |

Khari's job is to research the shade for the good of the clan. Ametrine, Marcus, Charon, Nagamo, and Cronin. Corium While wearing his veil, his magic is strongest and he can become like a kite in the wind, his limbs hidden from view. He has complete mastery of air currents in this form. |

He has an intense love of the sky, and when he wears his veil he can fly with ease. Although it obscures his vision, he uses his mind to sense what's around him. He also loves honey and sweet fruits. Khari hates when knowledge and history is abandoned or ignored, or when others disrespect sacred practices. A favourite hobby of his is reading through the old books he's found, and scavenging for new ones while exploring abandoned places. |
