Skinner

Skinner is a member of Stern's crew. Unlike Rorrim though, Skinner got the full brunt of the Scarred Wasteland as she grew up. Skinner was essentially feral when Stern found her. Skinner was near the Coast of the Sea of a Thousand Currents, which is reachable from the outer seas through the rivers that carved the Windswept Plateau's canyons. She had been stealing food from a group of Wastrels camped along the shore and was eventually caught. They had already beat her to a pulp for slighting them by the time Stern had come through.

Stern, being an accomplished pugilist and having the element of surprise was able to get right into the fray and hold his own for a time, but was struck in the face by a Pestilent Bolt while protecting Skinner. Weary of more interruptions, the wasters fled, leaving Skinner to drag Stern all the way back where he had come. The crew thought that Skinner had saved Stern, not the other way around, and they had celebrated grandly. Both Skinner and Stern kept quiet about it, but Stern stills bears a mark from protecting Skinner that day.

Nowadays, Skinner is the Slattern's cook, the queen of the galley. Skinner has what could amount to an unhealthy affinity for food, but this serves her well as the ship's chef. Skinner can make "food" out of just about everything she can get her claws on. It makes her resourceful, but it can leave some things to be desired even if her food is otherwise decent in most respect. Skinner is, however, still quite defensive of her food and reacts poorly to complaints.

Skinner is a sailor on the Slattern alongside Mobius, Rorrim, Longfellow, and Stern.
