Biography

Goblin is the clan's shaman, mystic and medium. Need to speak to the exalted? Wish to appeal to the Gladekeeper for fecundity? He's your hairball.

Although skilled in his craft, Goblin feels more comfortable communing with Nature than interacting with his fellow dragons. His warrior-mate, Cookie, lovingly teases him about his tea parties with the toadstools.

hawchoo batle build advice: (alt-cannons)
Quote:
"The problem I find with the 129 STR / 50 QCK build is that your dragons only get 3 turns before the Beastclan in the Kelp Beds, whereas your dragons get FIVE turns before the Beastclan with the 126 STR / 59 QCK build. With 5 turns, once your breath is built up, you can kill two Beastclan before they even have their first turn. If at least one is a meditate Beastclan, then you can wipe them out without a single hit from them.

I had trained two pairs for my kids recently (my whole family plays FR) and had left them at the 129/50 build and my son was very frustrated with their performance in the Kelp Beds and he had to refresh a LOT more than I do with my 126/59 pair... so I used a tincture on his dragons and restatted them to 126/59 and he's really happy now. I will restat my daughter's too but she's been farming in the Mire with hers right now where they are working out well.

The 129/50 is far better for the Golem Workshop... but then you really need the third Mage/Healer dragon too to really farm in there without much frustration."

Dom Value of Ancients: Science Alliance
a research-lady mystery

Bladewood (2016): "An Ancient is as valuable as five level 5s when exalted. This was discovered in a "science alliance" dom push between Light and Lightning flights (Oct 11-17 2015 Dom Watch) designed to test how the dominance system worked. Before this push many people believed Ancients to be much more valuable for exalting. Now, most Ancients are leveled for personal achievements such as Ecosystem badges."

but where are the results? wingworm began to search...

Tharn wrote on 2018-07-29 10:13:28:
@chatoyant It's actually something that was found out by the community; a few years ago Light and Lightning ran a week of experiments taking turns seeing how many levels it took to overtake the other on the dominance board with pre-hoarded dragons. Can't remember what happened to the thread but basically they found out that exalting lvl 25s isn't really worth it compared to just exalting a bunch of lvl 1's, hatchling or adult. Before then, a common dominance tactic had been to pre-hoard a bunch of level 25 dragons over the weeks leading up to the battle then exalt them in batches to swing the fight in one's favor. People assumed that because lvl 25's take such an obscene amount of time and effort to grind up, that the reward for exalting them would be proportional to that effort, but instead it's more like a 1:1 value per level based on what people have tested. That's why lvl 25 hoarding isn't as much of a thing as it used to be. Sorry I can't give you a better answer than that. ^^;

it seemed the search had hit a dead end. luckily, wingworm's investigation
continued thanks to a tip from Tharn about the Dom Watch

@wingworm

All the results were never published in the general forums. The wrap-up was done October 19, 2018. People in Lightning/Light simply mentioned the results of the testing in the general forums which is why there's not an originating thread anywhere.
(I assume they meant 2015)

so I'll just take their word for it, for now.
