The Boardkeeper is back.
Their return brought chaos. Power was split between the four factions fighting for control; The Boardkeeper, The White Player, The Black Player, and the Pearlcatcher duo. The clan didn't stay together for long. While still residing in the same castle, some have chosen sides. No violence, but everyone slowly drifts away from each other...

The Chessmaster and Maxwell had finally had it. Alone, with only their most trusted pawn, they lashed out to the Boardkeeper. Lacking their power, they were struck down by the otherworldly being, their prized Kings taking similar damage.
The Chessmaster resides in an empty den, unmoving and hiding.
Maxwell has found himself stuck as nothing more than a wisp, residing in the corner of the eye and nothing more.
Depthine rests in a death-like sleep, her wounds never healing and her body never breathing. Yet she does not rot.
Trell has been reduced to a statue, the lifeblood that kept her running having been removed.

Things are going down.
2/13/17
Conflict has ended, and the clan has settled. In a deal with Fivara and Aretha, the Boardkeeper has agreed to leave the governing of the clan to them, as long as the weakened god can watch over them. Maxwell and the Chessmaster now exist only as spirits, who can be communicated with in the dark basement of the castle.
6/19/17
No longer do the factions fight; the rule of Aretha and Fivara has finally been accepted and the clan has changed. Damage to the lair has been repaired, and a new room has been added solely for the twin Guardians to watch over everything. The Chessmaster and Maxwell are too weak to leave the lands, and keep to the bottommost floors of the palace. Depthine's curse has been lifted, and she slowly recovers in her den; Trell has been granted life once more and is being taught to protect the lair.

The Boardkeeper, finally pleased with how the clan is going, has decided to to lift the curse of the chess pieces. Each dragon may keep those titles as they wish, however they are no longer defined by that symbol.
One dragon, however, seems adverse to this and has hidden himself away in anger... Maybe not all is as peaceful as it should be.

With all peace, there comes chaos. In their displays of power, the demi-god and the spirits had not noticed that others had the clan within their gaze; and with the veil of the chess broken, they have now come.
Enter, the children of the gods long lost.

A great purge begins.

Where the Keep once stood now lies a massive crater, the landscape burned and warped from powerful magics. Dozens of dragons stand, homeless and injured, with even more lying at the edge of the crater, unmoving.
Just outside the range of destruction is a fine line; anything outside of it is untouched, unharmed, yet the inside has been blasted to oblivion. The twin Guardians, who had become one yet again, stand at the center of this destruction, exhausted from creating that barrier. They could not save all of their quarry, but it would have to be enough. They have no more strength, and collapse in a mortal form.
The Watcher has gotten his revenge.

A new year, a new hope. With many dragons gone from the clan, some fear it is the end; but the wise know it is only another beginning.

Enter, the Icarus Ridge.
