Kwan's health has always been rather poor; even as a hatchling, he would spend most days and nights in the healing den, recovering from whatever new bout of illness had taken hold of him. The clan's doctor worked constantly - mixing up medicines and potions in an attempt to keep the little plague hatchling... well, as healthy as a little plague hatchling could be.

One summer, a doting clanmate gifted to him a soft toy that had been handmade and fashioned from the pelt of a winter wolf. The soft new friend kept the sick little wildclaw company whenever he was too ill to move around and therefore had to be confined to the healing den. Kwan still treasures the toy to this day.

Chronic illness took a toll on the young dragon's development - Kwan grew up to be quite frail. Since he has little stamina and is physically unfit for hunting, foraging expeditions, or other physically demanding activities, Kwan has accepted responsibilities for the clan's Bestiary records.
He is usually found lounging in Keik's library, sometimes with a familiar for company, reading or writing in one of his log books.

Art is one of Kwan's best skills, and one he still continues to practise.
Not only does he provide the illustrations of familiars for the clan's Bestiary, but he also has tons of parchment, tablets and books full of drawings cluttering his room.
Some of his clanmates have even asked him to paint murals or patterns on the walls of their rooms.
