Cadence was born in the Sunbeam Ruins among the pillars of the Mirrorlight Promenade. He was named for the clever way in which he spoke. He could easily captivate an audience and pulled hatchlings and elders alike to him with the tales he wove. Though Cadence never lacked attention, he often felt like something was missing. Growing up alongside his clutch-mates Geb and Spire allowed him a lot of adventures and fun, yet when he was barely a teen, his wandering spirit got the best of him and he left home, following the path south into the Highland Scrub of the Shifting Expanse where he met Sallin. |

Sallin was different than the Dragons of his birthplace. When he started spinning his stories, she laughed. When he turned on his charm, she rolled her eyes. She constantly asked him questions that threw him off his guard and deeply questioned how he thought and what he knew. For their childhood, the two were inseparable, and garnered a lot of interest for their polar opposite natures. Childhood sweethearts. As they grew, it became apparent that their lives were going in separate directions, so they parted. Sallin on her journey and Cadence off in search of his true purpose. To this day, Sallin has a place in his heart and she remains his uncontested best friend. |

Cadence had barely set foot into the Emberglow Hearth when he sensed he was being followed. It took two days of talking aloud "to himself" before Yokunen finally, and begrudgingly, showed himself. He called himself The Flamecaller's Shadow and hardly spoke at all. After accompanying Cadence for a few weeks, Yoku finally took the lead and brought Cadence before Mithril, whom he referred to as The Flamecaller's Right Talon. Unexpectedly, the trio hit it off. Mithril trained Cadence in power attacks and Yoku trained him in stealth. In return, Cadence taught them diplomacy, social interaction, and he made them laugh. They fondly named him Sylvertongue, but Cadence found himself looking forward to the day he would meet the Flamecaller herself and receive his own title. |
