Biography
THE VALKYRIE
» rookie guardsman, favored of the queen
A particularly enthusiastic member of the town guard, hard at work repairing their relationship with the local citizens. The Queen has taken her as her protege, to her captain's growing resentment, but with Elysia's favor no one will dare touch her.
» ties that bind
elysia » Her mentor, to the whole clan's shock. Whether she disregards the Queen's lies or is too caught up in her hero-worship to see through them is yet to be seen.
» echoes of the past
A young, enthusiastic warrior, still caught up in things like honor and glory. While she lacks experience, her techniques and her talent are solid, and she overflows with potential. One day, she will truly be something to be feared- if her spirit survives that long. Protecting the innocent is all well and good, but her snow-white feathers are too often stained with blood, and her trust in goodness will only take her so far. She is no sellsword, she loudly boasts, but noble is never any match for hungry, in the end. The people handle her with a certain gentleness, despite her prowess, cautious of extinguishing this light before its time.
Her birthplace, while part of the Shifting Expanse, was certainly no Pointe. She initially signed on with Mavir's caravan, wanting to see the world while nobly fighting off brigands, or some such nonsense. She flourished, and the man was almost hesitant to bring her near their home base. But rather than looking on the Pointe with disgust, as he'd half expected, she saw it as a challenge. The people did not trust their guard, and this was something that she would not let stand. She'd stay, be their defender and their liason, help them attain the unity they secretely longed for in their hearts (obviously). By all rights, Elysia should have destroyed her. To erode that fear was to erode the very foundation of her power, after all, and her control was so close to absolute. But she had grown smarter, as of late, more subtle. Kabel's constant antagonism was becoming an irritant. She couldn't simply cast aside her general in favor of some green child, of course, but she was struck with an urge to take her underwing. Her favors are small- all her reputation can afford- and Gunnr has not yet recognized them for what they are. "What good luck!" she cries, as her enemies flee before her without need of bloodshed. The Queen seems charmed rather than irritated. Kabel's fury grows. Many assume, in the privacy of their own minds, that the Queen is simply entertaining herself with a shiny new plaything, that she'll lose interest in time. Others see an opportunity to groom this malleable warrior into a shining paragon of justice, tailored to the Queen's will. (They dare not phrase it as "Kabel's replacement", they prefer their blood inside their bodies, thank you.) It's something Elysia could easily do, she finds herself preparing for it almost subconciously, but... A smaller, secret part of her looks at this child's face and sees another young Wildclaw, many years ago, and thinks "maybe I can save her." But since when has she ever needed saving? |
