Found by River and probably mistaken for a rock, he joined the clan very young and has always been a bright, energetic boy. He puts all of his effort into everything he tries, including social interactions. When he was little, he was even dragged into mischief by Bereave and Chevron, but as he grew up and found his place in the lair, he became much too responsible for their liking. Now as an ambassador, he has close relations with Crossfire and Seven, working tirelessly to make sure the Reliquary remains a peaceful place to live. He sometimes consults Aora on methods her clan used to establish alliances as well, she's always happy to be a help. A positive and cheerful fellow, Feldspar is almost never seen without a warm smile and he always has a kind word for everyone.

When he first found his passion, the Familiar Federation (Riverstone helped name it) was merely a section of the lair designated for non-dragon residents. As the ambassadorial nature of this set in, however, it became less about controlling the Federation residents and more about peaceful cohabitating. The Federation is now a conglomerate of all the non-dragon folk living within the Reliquary; several of whom have seats on the Assembly and help the council make decisions. Some of the familiars in the lair even have important jobs, such as the miths Achara and Lai; a blacksmith and mechanic respectively. There are no longer set spaces for familiars to dwell and they mingle with dragons as they please.

As the clan’s self-appointed Beastfolk liaison, Feldspar and Bryn both have seats on the Assembly. Bryn, his steadfast companion, is the lair's ambassador from the centaur herds and she aids him in negotiating peaceful trades and border crossings with local Beastfolk. Together, they have maintained a tolerable – if not quite friendly – relationship with the Beastclans residing nearby. Initially, Bryn’s request for other Beastfolk to move into the clan was met with derision at worst and reluctance at best. More recently however the relations have thawed and while most still take a while to warm up to the idea they are always treated with the utmost respect; being given quarters in appropriate parts of the lair and everything. Some Beastfolk have even developed amicable associations with other dragons in the clan. It's a work in progress, but they are making headway.

A pacifist at heart, Feldspar is not prone to violence of any sort; he never takes part in conflict. That said, he takes threats to the security he and Crossfire have worked towards very seriously, should the peace be threatened he’s not above putting a stop to it. He prefers to solve disputes with words, but will absolutely end things physically if necessary. He went claw to claw with Fiend in defence of his family on more than one occasion (he’s very glad she no longer lives with them, he has scars from their scuffles still). He might not like violence but he considers his denmates his family and he would lay down his life for them. He is theirs to his last breath.

ORIGIN / It has long been thought that Feldspar’s clan was a collection of wanderers, a troupe of performers perhaps, a merchant caravan, something along those lines. And that perhaps they simply left him behind by accident. Or maybe he got lost? The point is no one knows where he came from. It doesn’t really matter now anyway; a Guardian stays with their Charge. And sure, perhaps he could go looking for his birth family and hope they would be amenable to accommodating his needs. But he’d rather not do that. Plus, River would be devastated, he can’t do that to her. She’s his mother.

Fact / His rocky armour is embellished with gems and polished rocks gifted to him by his mother. He is quite literally wearing his heart on his sleeve.

Likes / He’s so passionate about animals and the Federation, often going out of his way to encourage positive relations. He loves the look on hatchlings’ faces when they make their first familiar friend and has hope that peace will remain long into the future.

Charge / Upon arriving at the Reliquary he thought perhaps the clan was his Charge. And it is, to a point. Those associated with the Reliquary – its residents and lands – are very important to him, but it is the peaceful relations they have established with other clans that are his Charge. Most specifically, the alliances with the Beastfolk. Feldspar is unwaveringly pro-Beastclan and he will protect the bonds his clan has with them to the last.

Interests / Absolutely fascinated by Beastclan history, he sometimes travels with his sister to visit places where evidence of their culture is still preserved. He does his best to learn about their societies and how they developed (and what part dragonkind played in that) in order to be not only respectful and considerate, but also just more informed. Thanks to his and Tahvi’s combined efforts, Pencil has an entire section of the library dedicated to Beastclan histories and culture.
