Onuava charmcrafter | homestead mage The Refuge is well versed in arcane magic- not of the flight, but the more wizardly and learned sort that requires books and sigils and years of training. What do you do when you want a simple way to keep roving insects away from your orchard, or to help make sure your pies never burn? Onuava has you covered. Her magic isn't the flashy sort, it's what you'd call hearth magic. Specifically, the sort that lends itself to charms and talismans. Sort of an offshoot of her mother's fertility based magic, Ava works out of Sidh's Gate, Caoineadh's inn near Refuge's center. From her permanent lodgings there, she carves bits of bone, wood, and gems into the charms her customers request. She doesn't feel quite at home in the Artisan district, nor the Mystic district, and her unique lineage protects her from the... unique effects of the inn, so Caoin allows her to stay past the normal three-day limit. To Caoin's relief, Ava prefers to spend her time in human form too- snapper forefeet aren't exactly suited to carving and crafting the delicate work that her magic requires. When creating charms, Ava often asks for related to what the purpose will be- in Persica's case, it's often a little bit of root or a few leaves from the trees she wishes to protect, and in Caoin's case, it's an old spoon she no longer uses, to be placed above the hearth to make safe her precious pies. For more personal charm requests, it could be a bit of horn, a loose scale or fur, something that would tie the magic to the user. Each talisman is completely tailored to the commissioner, and thus, she has no need for a storefront in which to display her wares- just a set of tools and a place to work.
