Turmeric's egg was abandoned at the entrance to the cave. Although Marigold didn't quite catch who left him there, he suspects that they may have been wearing tawny antlers and holding a number of bells.

- Hatchling Biography
Turmeric was the most active of all of the hatchlings. He had two speeds: very fast and asleep. When awake, he would squiggle, roll, and loop all around the cave, pouncing on toys (and other hatchlings), knocking things over, and causing general chaos. Once he had learned to talk, he would typically be babbling and asking questions the entire time. When sleepy he would wrap himself around another dragon and curl up for a quick nap. Quite the snuggle monster, Turmeric didn't like to sleep by himself.

- Adolescent Biography
As he grew older, Turmeric loved attending Coriander's parties. He admired the ambassador's adventures, stories, and friends - and wanted to be just like him when he grew up. But Turmeric was a bit more socially awkward than Coriander. He often knocked things over, tended to babble and irritate the others, and even fell asleep in the middle of conversations. He simply didn't have what it takes to be an ambassador, debating serious issues and politics, and he knew it, but he was still determined to do something with his life. That's when he suggested to the older members of the clan that he could start up a clan store. Travelers could stay in rooms overnight, peruse the many beautiful crafts and creations of the clan's artisans, and he would have all the time in the world to talk to travelers and hear their stories. Although Sage was hesitant, worried he would knock things over and make a mess of it, Coriander believed in him. The store became a reality, and Turmeric dedicated his life to being the best shopkeeper he could be.

- Adult Biography
As an adult, Turmeric runs the busy, successful inn and shop of the Rippling Depths. When he was younger, he would occasionally break fragile items, much to the frustrations of the craftsdragons, but as he grew older, he grew more careful and more charismatic. Where his babbling used to be awkward, it was now endearing... and surprisingly convincing. None of the other dragons could make sales like Turmeric could and, with time, he began to trade with both local and exotic merchants, expanding his merchandise to include crafted goods from all over Sorneith.
