Dragon Log

Born on the last night of Nocturne in 2017, and very nearly the last night of the year as well, this dragon is much more laid-back then his fellow Nocturnes. Though still very young, he has already showed himself to be more of a watcher than a doer, and to be far more interested in relaxing than in exerting himself. Yet he is not truly lazy. He is more than happy to pull his weight in the Clan when asked…he just has to be asked first. In fact, it seems that no matter what he does—or has done to him--he is always content. The rest of the Nocturnes are not quite sure what to do with him yet, but Humorum and Spumans have both taken their fellow Water Dragon under their wing, so to speak, and are trying to introduce the young hatchling to the more exciting aspects of the life of a Clan magician. So far, it is impossible to tell whether they are having any effect…

1-5-18: The Clan's newest Nocturne has grown up at last...and has decided to celebrate the occasion by choosing his name. "Tranquilliatis" definitely fits his personality...though many of the Clan find that name difficult to use when in a hurry, and insist on calling him "Tatis." He does not seem to mind the shortening at all, responding as easily to the nickname as he does to "young one"-- or even "hey you!" As for his magical studies, they are still developing, though Spumans thinks that his new friend might have a knack for water mirages....

3-19-18: Tatis apparently has hidden depths...or perhaps that should be hidden hungers. To the surprise of the whole Clan, he got hungry for a Midnight Snack tonight! None of the other dragons feel the least bit hungry, but apparently Tatis was quite starved: He ate a whole dwarf fawn all by himself! Duskshadow is a little concerned by this new development, while others of the Clan are a bit amused. Perhaps the most easy-going dragon of the Clan has some quirks after all...or perhaps he was simply spending too much time exercising his still undefined magic, and depleted his energy far too much? Only time will tell...

4-2-18: The question of Tatis' appetite is still being debated--and the young Nocturne does not seem to be interested in repeating his Midnight escapade anytime soon--but some things, at least, remain predictable: Bouncy, Tatis' Alstroemeria Fox, has Awakened! Tatis is thrilled at having reached this milestone in his bond with his devoted friend, and has spent the whole day petting the fox, praising him for his newfound maturity....

4-22-18: It is Tatis' first Water Festival, and he seems to be enjoying himself, even if his Birth God is missing. In honor of his first time, all the Water Dragons had agreed that Tatis would get first shot at the Water Familiar. They needn't have worried, though. As soon as the turtle Spirit of Water saw Tatis, he ambled right over, and locked eyes with the most laid-back dragon of the Clan without hesitation. Perhaps Geyser sensed a kindred spirit? Or perhaps he simply sensed that this particular Water dragon did not yet have a special familiar to call his own. Whatever the reason, the bond between Tatis and his new friend is strengthening by the minute....

..And while the bond is strengthening, Tatis and his new friend have decided to go for a nice, sedate ride on a submarine in the city of Levitos. After all, it is unlikely that anything bad will happen on a Water Flight sponsored trip, right? Tatis is enjoying himself immensely on the sub, and has found an interesting room where he can go fishing simply by casting a net...

4-23-18: Tatis' attempts at fishing were not entirely satisfactorily, as he ended up with a Pink Highnoon Hank and Poisonous Woodtreads, but no fish. Oh, yes, and an odd prophecy....

“Catch a Marsh Rabbit, spin clockwise five times, counterclockwise seven times, jump from side to side eighteen times, slash the air with your right paw fifty-six times, and you will temporarily gain enough strength to take on five emperors, alone.” Lir finished then tilted his head to the side.

“That’s… actually quite strange… A fortune has never given out cheat codes before…” While Lir pondered to himself, Tatis slowly edged out of the room to get away from this insanity. Once he was out, he ran and never looked back.

7-29-18: The Clan is still not sure what to make of Tatis' foray into prophecy, but at least some things are progressing as normal, even if quite a bit late. It seems that Geyser, despite his name, is truly as laid-back as his dragon companion...or perhaps he simply wishes to prove that "slow and steady wins the race." Whatever the case may be, it took him quite some time to mature. He has, however, managed it at last, and today the Spirit of Water is truly Awakened. Tatis is happy for his friend, though it does not seem to have made much difference to Geyser's attitude. He is still as calm and unhurried as ever....

1-26-19: Recently, the three strongest Coli dragons of the Clan have been paying a great many visits to the newest venue, looking for new food and treasure, and coming home with a great many new friends in the process. The Clan has been waiting eagerly to see which of these creatures that followed the Coli team home would bond first. (In fact, there was even a bet going on among the younger dragons.) Today, the question was finally answered, and no one knows what to think of the event, least of all Tatis, who is now the bemused companion of a very content Dire Vulture. The vulture was very insistent, however, and even knocked Bouncy away with his wing in his effort to reach Tranquillitatis' side. To make things even more confusing, this obviously aggressive creature then announced hat he would like to be called "Pax," a name that does not seem to fit with his personality at all. Still, it cannot be denied that the bird is affectionate, and already deep into the bond. The Clan will just have to wait and see where this goes--and hope that Tatis can keep the creature's appetite under control...

4-24-19: Pax has Awakened! Perhaps now he will be more courteous of the others in the caves, and will dine on his meals away from the impressionable hatchlings...

6-7-19: Lately a tide of magical energy has been sweeping the Clan, causing quite a few magic auras to appear in the visible spectrum, on both dragons who were expecting it, and those who were not. One of those who most decidedly was not expected to suddenly sport a Halo of any kind was Tatis. The Clan's most laid-back dragon definitely did not seem a candidate for a visual sign of intense magical energy, but the Fathomsearch Halo which has abruptly appeared around Tatis' head apparently thinks differently. Even more astonishing, the Halo itself seems to be "rotating" at an alarming rate, indicating not just extremely powerful magic, but extremely tumultuous magic as well. Perhaps the Clan should take a closer look at the supposedly calmest dragon of the lair, especially since Tatis himself does not seem the least bit surprised at the Halo's sudden appearance...

4-28-20: Tatis traveled to the Wavecrest Saturnalia this year, inspired by the sudden appearance of several cute model ships on a few of his Clanmate’s Trophy Shelves. As his own shelf is quite bare, he has decided to try his luck at “fishing” for these bottled boats himself, in the hopes of getting something special… ( )

…Well, its not clear whether he got something “special” or not, but Tatis is happy with his 3 boats, regardless. His little Red Tugboat looks just perfect on that shelf, and the Container Ships aren’t that bad, either…
