Dragon Log

Born to the Clan, as one of four from the Ridgeback Nimby's first clutch with the Spiral Speallweaver, she very quickly developed interests different from both her scholarly father and her playful mother. She is a lover of the water magics, and as such finds her friends among the Pearlcatchers of the Clan who share her interests. She is also far more focused on the here and now than the easily distracted Spellweaver. In her case, the long wait for her name was fueled by a desire to get it right, not by a constant forgetting of what she was thinking.

7-28-14: The Lightning Festival proved extremely fruitful for this young mage, as she has found just the right skin to emphasize her love of the water power: The Luminous Surge Accent!

10-5-14: Her Fuiran companion has Awakened! This is a relief to both, as he has been restless for some time....

10-18-14: The Fuiran has decided to rest for a while elsewhere in the caves, and an Octoflyer has taken his place. This match-up seems to work much better with the Seamage than the last....

1-15-15: The Octoflyer has Awakened! The Seamage is tremendously pleased for her dear friend, and looking forward to aiding him on his later adventures.....

3-6-15: While out swimming, the Seamage encountered a beautiful mermaid. The Maren Scout found her just as fascinating--and now her family has grown again!

7-5-15: The Scout has Awakened! She has decided to celebrate by throwing a nice party with a bunch of her friends from the sea. The Seamage it not adverse to this, but she does wish that they had left their Tridents at home....

5-12-16: While out exploring, the now much older Fuiran found a female of his kind, and brought her back to the Clan. The Seamage is amused and delighted at her old friend's antics, and happily agreed that the two lizards could retire together to the Vault to have some fun away from watching dragons....

5-14-16: After long, careful thought--and moons worth of frustration--the Seamage woke this morning knowing exactly what to call herself. Meet Wavedancer!

3-28-17: During the Mistral Jamboree, Wavedancer entered the Masquerade Contest. To offset her accent she donned a bandanna, and cast a simple spell to attract some friendly fish friends to her side. She ended up with far more than she intended (much to Neptunia's dismay), and found to her delight that none of them are at all interested in leaving. The rest of the Clan isn't quite so happy, but the Seamage is firmly ignoring their looks and grumbling about the "fishy smells," as well as the not-so-subtle hints that she lost the Masquerade because she forgot that "less is more"....

4-25-17: Festivals seem to have gotten into Wavedancer's blood. Now the Seamage is trying her luck with Canal Dowsing at the Wavecrest Saturnalia.....

Wavedancer studied the canals, intrigued. Though she had been born in an Arcane lair she had always felt a pull to water, and especially the sea. Canals, however, were not something she had ever dealt with before... and dowsing sounded.... interesting. Perhaps she could find herself a new companion? Hmmm....

...A few hours later, having perused the hoard at home, Wavedancer returned to the Festival, and the city of Levitos, with 2 bored creatures in tow. There had been so many of them in the hoard that she didn't think anyone would miss these two...and perhaps she could attract something good!

4-26-17: Wavedancer's first 2 attempts were not what she expected, but certainly not failures, as she walked away with no less than 17 Raffle Tickets. Unfortunately, she is not as happy with the results....

Wavedancer shifted, feeling embarrassed. She was supposed to be a great Seamage, and couldn't find anything other than soggy tickets? Of course, the rest of the Clan was thrilled, and it was nice to have some many tickets in that great Raffle, but she had so wanted to find a new friend, and her magic had never failed her... she stared at the canal, not sure what went wrong...

Nearby, Neptunia stopped wandering through the stalls, blinking in surprise. "Seamage? Are you trying to find us more tickets? I thought you were going to check out the food....". Neptunia shifted her gaze to the canal. Hmmm.... Perhaps she should try her luck? She was fond of a good mystery, and Dowsing sounded like fun... Turning back to her Clanmate, she noticed that the Spiral did not seem pleased with her earlier results. She was, in fact, glaring at the canal. But what did the other dragon expect? She was a SEAmage after all. She dealt in waves and storms, not canals....

Neptunia shrugged, and headed over to try her luck with a few pebbles. Trying to explain to her standoffish Clanmate that being proficient in sea magic did not a dowser make would be a lost cause. A very big lost cause, Neptunia thought, watching as Wavedancer reached for a green scale and practically threw it at the hosting Pearlcatcher....

Despite the rather rude actions of the Seamage, and the hosting Pearlcatcher's responding annoyance, Wavedancer's third attempt did, in fact, net her a familiar. She will be taking a nice big fish home to the Clan.... while Neptunia managed to dowse a giant sand dollar and 3 more raffle tickets. For some reason, Neptunia seems extremely pleased about this...

9-24-17: The Arcane special familiar came as something of a shock to most of the Clan--many of whom cannot figure out what Joxar and the Arcanist were thinking--but the Seamage is extremely pleased with the addition of another octopus to the Clan bestiary, and even more pleased that the Octopus chose her as its companion. Now if only her friend Neptunia would stop growling and glaring at her whenever the octopus comes into view….

1-3-18: Gripper, the Spirit of the Arcane familiar, has Awakened at last! Wavedancer is extremely relieved, as it seemed for a while like he would never grow up....But now the octopus is fully grown, and getting into all sorts of mischief with those long tentacles. Oh dear...

4-27-19: While waiting for the ships of the Wavecrest Satunrnalia expedition to return from their journey, the Sea Mage decided to play a bit with her Water Magic, and now has two special Haloes surrounding her as a result. Far from being displeased, she is in fact relieved that the Fathomsearch Halo and Spellwrought Halo have appeared at last...

4-6-20: Wavedancer got a bit of a shock today: Her old friend the Fuiran has suddenly emerged from the Vault! The elderly lizard simply walked over to where she was and settled down next to her as if he had never left. She would be affronted, but she missed him too much to stay annoyed at him for long, and its not like there isn't room, though she does wonder where his mate got to, and if she is expected to provide for two Fuirans now...

4-27-20: Seaspray has been showing off his new boats--especially his pride and joy, the Sailboat “Wind’s Victory”--and Wavedancer can’t help but be intrigued. It seems that her old friend did some dives in the sea near the Wavecrest Saturnalia, and came back with some very interesting treasures. Perhaps the Seamage should go on a search for this Tundra “Bob” herself, and see if she can’t find a nice vessel of her own--especially if she pays a little extra to get something good… ( )

….Well, Wavedancer might not have gotten the Epic ship she was looking for, but she is by no means displeased: She has a nice Cruise Ship to display on her shelf, and a cute little Red Tugboat, as well as a Sailboat identical to Seapsray’s own…which should stop him from waving his around so much. (Not that she was jealous. She wasn’t. Not one little bit.) And she has something else, too, though what she will do with the Ghost Maren that followed her home is anyone’s guess…

3-29-21: Wavedancer has just acquired a new friend, courtesy of Seaspray. Her fellow learned Water Mage had headed back to the Widnswept Plateau for the Msitral Jamboree, and apparently he found an interesting new companion during his first day here. He made a special trip back to the Clan, just to deliver the Deeprealm Leon to her eager paws…

6-12-21: The Seamage's Deeprealm Leon has Awakened! Wavedancer is very pleased for her newest friend. It should be interesting to see what he does with this newfound energy he is discovered. Perhaps she can teach his to swim? He might find some very interesting food in the ocean, if they make a trip there...
