11-13-14: After some long contemplation, he has chosen to name himself after the rare emerald that falls form the skies--or, to put it another way, after the green gem which originates in meteors. Meet Moldavite!

Of course, all the young ones call him Moldy... but he is far too important to worry about what the "uncouth" say.

1-20-15: It appears to be a day for familiars to Awaken... as the Fungulhoof Qiriq who has been Moldavite's constant companion has just joined the list of those who have done so! Moldavite is quite pleased with his old friend, and looking forward to seeing what she comes up with to do now....

1-21-15: Moldavite has decided to join the other Coatls in their new project….after all, he always wanted hatchlings of his own, and this way there won’t be any fighting….

4-8-15: While exploring the hoard, Moldavite stumbled on a sleeping bear. He was a bit startled, and tried to back away quickly, recognizing the Cloudkeeper Herald meant for Dusklcould...but it seems that Fate, and the Herald, had other plans. As the inquisitive Coatl moved away, his foot hit a pile of bones and knocked it over. The bear awoke, looked around, and locked eyes with Dave….

7-7-15: Despite Dave's best attempts to convince the Cloudkeeper Herald that he needed to go bond with Duskcloud, the Bear in question stubbornly refused to give in.... and now he has Awakened! Moldavite is seesawing between being pleased for his reluctantly accepted friend, or upset that poor Dusk never got her chance. Oddly enough, Duskcloud herself does not seem to mind the improbable mix-up in the least. Perhaps Beeblebrox is rubbing off on her?

10-22-15: While on a visit back to the Windswept Plateau with his friend the Herald, Moldavite detoured into the Crystal Pools, and met a solitary Harpy. The two struck up an unusual friendship, and now the Windcarve Fugitive has decided to try her luck in an Arcane Clan....

1-21-16: The Windcarve Fugitive has Awakened! Moldavite is much happier about this event than he was with the Awakening of the last familiar who bonded with him--and the Herald is still refusing to even give Duskcloud the time of day. Oddly enough, the young Harpy has visited Dusk on a number of occasions, though she clearly prefers Dave's company to the Guardian dragon. At the moment however, she is enjoying her new sense of purpose and wellbeing--and annoying several older dragons with her celebratory acrobatics....

8-9-17: After over a year, Moldavite has once again chosen to expand his family….or at least, that is what he keeps telling the rest of the Clan. In reality, the Carrioncorn cornered him in the back of the cave and would not take “no” for an answer. Since Dave rather prefers to be bonded instead of skewered…well, the choice of what to do was rather obvious, right? Only time will tell if the Carrioncorn will remain happy with his choice, or if Dave will begin to regret it….

11-8-17: Fortunately for Moldavite, the Carrioncorn has remained extremely happy with his choice of companion, and there have been no more threats of skewering....except, of course, to the fish that Dave sometimes catches. And today, after weeks of waiting, the Carrioncorn has finally Awakened! Perhaps now he will be a little politer to everyone around him....or perhaps not....

8-22-18: And Dave has done it again! This time, it was a Spinel Vulstal that took an interest in the Coatl Mage. Apparently, the odd fox liked all the gemstones around Moldavite's sleeping area, and has decided to add some of his own....

12-8-18: It has taken some time--much longer than usual in fact--but the Spinel Vulstal has finally Awakened at last. Despite some early rough spots in their friendship, the odd fox is now quite content with his choice of dragon, and settling in nicely. Moldavite is equally content, especially since the Vulstal has a habit of producing some very unusual gems to add to Dave's ever growing collection...

1-25-19: Though Moldavite has never been able to travel to the Earth lands, he is extremely in tune with Earth magic, and in particular with magic linked to gemstones. It came as no surprise, therefore, that he was one of the dragons who acquired a Crystalcourt Halo during the influx of magical energy that surged through the caves today. The only surprise is that it took so long to appear. Even the fact that the colors don't really match Dave's feathers can't dampen his pleasure at his newest "acquisition." It's just a pity that the glowing gems aren't actually solid...

3-27-19: In a break with his usual routine, Dave decided to travel to the Windswept Plateau this year for the Mistral Jamboree, and found himself getting caught up in the festivities at the Cloudsong Celebration. ( ) Dave was quite impressed by the Swordsman’s show, though there were several other members of the Clan, more focused on other things, who didn’t even seem to notice the performance… ( )

3-28-19: Dave’s wanderings have caused him to find quite an interesting souvenir indeed… ( )
And now things have gotten even more interesting, as Dave has been joined by a younger, and far more volatile mage, who seems to have mistaken this Guardian for a possible future teacher… ( )

Oh dear…hopefully Moldavite can prevent the young Saturnalia from making too much of a fool of herself—or at least from suffering too much damage from that extremely annoyed male Guardian….

3-29-19: Dave managed to distract Saturnalia with the use of new gifts, courtesy of a passing Wildclaw, and things have settled back down, for now. Now if only he can find that green gemstone he is looking for....

11-28-19: Much to Moldavite's horror, a certain wild Woodland spell has struck again, and he was the target this year! He looks so undignified in this Woodland Turkey skin. Not at all like his usual, handsome self. And the snickering from some of the other dragons is starting to get on his nerves. He will never, ever, laugh at Jasper's earlier misfortune again...

3-22-20: After all the fun he had at the Mistral Jamboree last year, Dave was ecstatic to be chosen as one of the “chaperones” for the trip to the Cloudsong Celebration this year. He, Ruby, and Ev’enfall will have their work cut out for them, of course, as this year’s collection of partygoers is an extremely volatile bunch, but it should be a lot of fun regardless…

3-28-20: Fun is an understatement. Dave has been thoroughly enjoying himself, listening to incredible musical performances ( ), and catching up with Clanmates he doesn’t often get to talk to. He even managed to find a new Dual Focus Stone! ( ) Now he will be able to channel his Earth and Wind magic properly for the first time…

3-29-20: Dave’s experiments with his new “toy” continue, even as the Festival winds down, and dragons prepare to leave the Cloudsong for home. Winding down does not mean sropping, however, and there is still plenty to see and enjoy at this celebration. Dave has joined many other dragons in lingering, drinking in as many sights as possible before its time to head out. And he has seen some truly amazing things. After watching an incredible feat of archery ( ), he was treated to another “show” when Titania decided enough was enough and publicly took her wandering mate to task for his outrageous flirtations. Dave was a little afraid that he would have to step in, but fortunately his old friend Obi was well up to the task of defending himself without any help—and without destroying the Cloudsong in the process. Though what, exactly, they are going to do with that Robotic Tender that Titania was given and hurriedly passed to Ruby, Dave has no idea… ( )

But perhaps the best part of this entire experience has been the sheer pleasure in Seaspray’s eyes, as Dave’s fellow Wind dragon finally began to appreciate his Birth Element again. Now Seaspray is once again combining his Dual power of Wind and Water with ease, and Dave couldn’t be happier for his oldest friend. Its truly a shame that they have to leave, but all good things must eventually come to an end. ( ) At least until next year…
