Biography

The sun was beating down on his back, making the desert expanse seem hazy and far off. Alduin curled more in on himself, trying to close his eyes. But no matter how tightly he held his eyes shut, the sun would burn brighter until he couldn't tell if his eyes were open or not. The air burned his lungs and sand made his mouth tacky. He let out a whimper, and suddenly rather than sand, his head was resting in another person's lap.

They called a name, but it was not his. Somehow Alduin knew they were calling to him. The voice felt faint, like a song being carried by the wind. The timbre of the figures voice was deep and relaxing. Alduin trusted whoever this was. Deeply.

He looked up.

Above him was the face of a Nocturne. His eyes were glazed over with the same pastel purple as his glimmer. Strangely enough, most of his face was freckled with glimmer. His scales shone brightly, like a million diamonds in the sun. It was the most beautiful thing Alduin had ever seen. It made him want to puke.

"I'm going to die soon. It's not going to stop."

Alduin answered, "Please... Please don't say this. Not today. Please not today," The voice coming from him was not his own.

"We can't fix it, I've come to accept that. No one can. I can barely see.. I can barely think anymore. We just have to..." He trailed off, suddenly not able to look Alduin in the eyes, "We just have to figure something out tonight. Cammie has arranged a clan meeting."

The Nocturne continued to stare away from Alduin, eyes unfocused. Alduin dully noted the Nocturne was mostly blind and probably couldn't see a foot past his face. His hand moved to cup the Nocturne's face,

"D̖̲̜ͬ̉̒̃o͒ͩ̾̿̊͗̕͏̠̫̙n̨̦̻̫ͮ̐͂̉̀͗̈̀̕͝j̝̟̼̺̪̪͆̿͐ͦͥ͐o̶̬̩̱̰̺͆̏̂͢͝n̶̫̥͛̂̌̽͛͠,̓ͧͣ͐̏ͯ͗͌͟҉̵̞͔͚ ̤̹͖͈̦̰̮̦̉ͪ̀͂ͪ̊I̵̸̳̦͖̲ͤ̑͛̉̂ͦͬ ̫̯̝̩̬̻̦͐͝͡ͅl̛̙̪̳̱̙̖̰̈̆ͨ͜ô̶̩̪͇͖̼v̡ͧ͗̊҉̤̺͈͚̳ę̵͓̬̔͒ ̸̹̄͞ͅy̟̞̮̜̔ͅo̴̘̗͓̬̔̇͒ͯ̓́̒ǘ̬̼̫̝̱͉̖͊̃͐͊ͧ̂́͜ͅ.̼̫̜̹̖̥̬ͭ̔͠ ̫͇̹̙͈̼͉̋ͨ̈́̔̆ͥ͢"

---

Alduin awoke with a start and shot out of his bed. His entire body was dripping with sweat causing his sleep gown to stick to his body. As he undressed, he slapped his face a couple of times to try and knock some sense into him. It wasn't until he was sitting at his make-shift desk in a new pair of slacks that he realized he just had a vision.

Glimmer

Glimmer is a dragon with a strange affliction. His tertiary gene one day started to grow and take over his body. It eventually reached his eyes-blinding him- and his brain, giving him both short and long term memory loss.

Alduin found him passed out on the side of the road one day while returning home from the market. Usually Alduin would ignore sick stragglers, having not the room nor resources to help them, but something about Glimmer called to him. When he turned the strange dragon over, the memory of the vision he had not a week prior came rushing back to him. Alduin felt compelled to help this dragon, and so Glimmer was brought back from the brink of death.

When questioned, Glimmer couldn't remember how he had gotten to the middle of the ice fields, or where he had come from. He couldn't even recall his name. In his notes, Alduin had dubbed the Noc from his dreams "Glimmer", and so the name had stuck.

Since his arrival to the clan, they have been attempting to find the source of his strange affliction and his past. Upon discovering how far gone his vision was, Mephala had him transformed into a mirror. While his original eyes are covered in a layer of the glimmer, his second set of eyes is fresh and can see temperature ranges perfectly.

The transformation seemed to have stop the spread of the disease for the time being, and focus has shifted to maintaining his health rather than curing his ailment.

Although Alduin has some hints on who Glimmer may have been before, he has not been able to track down his original clan. After months of looking, Alduin has given up and considers Glimmer to be one of their own.
