Keryin

Keryin was drawn to the Stanzascale clan by their philosophy of embracing diversity. Diversity is nature, and those who adhere blindly to some survival of the strongest are liable to miss subtler strengths in others.

The grey Coatl keeps much of his past private, preferring to speak of the future. It's not a complete mystery however. Should someone who isn't trained in medicine pass a thoughtless remark about his health, Keryin bares a snarky and vindictive smile, as he explains about the attention to fitness and diet he's incorporated into his daily routine, sometimes stopping just short of inquiring how health-responsible his conversation-partner is.


When this particular pitfall is avoided, Keryin is generally found to be cordial, though not as outgoing as many of the other Coatl in the clan. It was he who first introduced the clan to Sarquinn, having sought her services as a guide and guardian of travellers to reach the clan's lair.
Most of the time he's content to find a cubby hole in the library to curl up with a book, or enjoy the sunshine with Falankis. Outside meeting scholars of his research topics of interest (who may engage him in hearty debate), it is usually others who instigate interactions with him.

Linguistics and philosophy are his subjects of preference. With regard to the former, after being convinced of his integrity, Illuminata and Plumra enabled him to exchange letters with some peace-seeking beastclans open to exchanging scholarly queries.
Some speculate this interest either motivates or enables his pursuit of friendship with letter-keeper Ponscill and other clan-Fae.


Keryin admits to not being the perfect embodiment of an open-minded life. The Coatl enjoys the smell of bound books and the little moments of opening the handwritten letter of another. He is reluctant to replace them with arcane crystals that transmit information as visions upon the user, or the rapid blips known to be employed by some Lightning dragons to communicate at range.
There are those who agree with his stance, given the hazards the creations of both Flights are known for.
