darkness.
that is all I know.
it is cold, empty.. it is comfort, home.
I do not know anything else, yet I stirr. restless. wanting.
moving my aching limbs, I relentlessly start to climb out of my hole. my home. my everything.
something draws me upwards, an allure so strong, yet I do not know what it is. it is familiar, yet unknown to me. endless climbing, I seem to get nowhere. maybe it is all for naught.
maybe I should go back home, back to my-
pain!
blinding pain!
I shriek out in agony as my skin starts to burn!
my eyes sting from rays of visions as it for the first time
enter my retinas! my blood boils, every nerve on fire!
yet all I can do is be in awe. it is beautiful. it is..
Light!
joy like I have never experienced dance in my chest! despite the pain,
I want it! I claw myself forward into the light, I need to see it! I need to feel-
a chill grips my tail. it's cold, comforting. I stop, feeling soothed by its grasp
as it takes hold of my legs, my body, and pulls me back. back into the dark.
the light fades, but so does the pain.
