Hi I'm Juno, nice to meet you! I'm an artist, a writer, and an animal enthusiast. I work as an associate at a local pet store and also make a little bit of money doing commissions online. I'm very involved in the furry community and I'm trying to integrate more into the reptile and tarantula communities as well. I don't often generate new interests, my tried and true favorites are Pokemon, Digimon, Gen1 Yugioh, Dangan Ronpa, and the world of Warrior Cats.

Flight Rising is a website for me to goof around on and have fun, I'm not a serious breeder or collector or anything like that. I like having dragons as a canvas for character creation and development, and as such all of my dragons will ideally one day have a full bio.

Clan of the Winding Woods

In the darkness of the woods you pause, taking your map from your bag once again. You squint, trying to read it in the dim. You're on this path here... or maybe this one? The realization that you've been trying to ignore for the past few hours takes hold of you. You're lost. Completely, inarguably lost. The map crumples under your trembling grip. The trail ahead of you is unkempt and narrow, snaking through the dense wood, shrouded in a damp and low hanging fog. The only light in this maze of pines and brambles comes from the bioluminescent mushrooms sprouting from the peat and rotten logs. You put the map away. All you can do is press on.

The winding path brings you further into the woods, fording cold running creeks and skirting overgrown thickets. A thick canopy of pine needles obscures your view of the sky, and you can't tell if it is night or day. Unexpectedly, the path begins to widen. Your pace hastens. Just ahead of you the trees part to reveal a clearing. In the center sits an old, dead tree, signs and notices covering its trunk. Tiny mushrooms peek out between the posted boards and cover long left scrolls and banners.

» Origins «

Many years ago, a pair of lonely dragons lost in the woods came to find an old abandoned castle hidden away in the pines. Tired and in need of shelter, they stopped to rest within the decrepit walls. The pair were quick to find that the castle served as an excellent home, and took up residence.

The castle became a home for misfits and displaced dragons. The progenitors of the lair were kind but naive. Their generosity served them well for only a short while, the peace ending once a young Imperial dragon by the name of Takkun came to the lair. Takkun saw the potential of the castle and wanted control for himself. He gathered followers from within the fledgling clan and in one night of fear and violence drove the progenitors from their home.

There was no longer a place in Verfolgt Castle for the weak and needy. Takkun had goals and ambitions to be met, and his subjects would either bend to his whims or break beneath the weight of his mighty claw.

Over the years, the Clan of the Winding Woods has fluctuated wildly. Takkun is a temperamental beast, and he tore the very fabric of the clan often and with little afterthought. Populations ebbed and swelled with his temper. Times of great riches and great poverty spun like two sides of the same coin. The leader was young and foolish, and his advisors were no different. For years the unfortunate residents of the castle, wether there voluntarily or by force, endured the trial and error of the budding monarchy.
